Absolutely 5 star experience!

An absolutely beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting with five star service and staff. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is. You must go soon, and I never say that! Love this place… It is heaven! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Management doesn’t care that sewage keeps flooding our bathroom

DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 558. We are paying $1500 a night for an oceanfront 1 BR suite, their second highest category. Last night, our bathroom ceiling was leaking and the entire bathroom flooded with dirty water from upstairs. The hotel blamed it on the upstairs guests and we accepted their apology after they cleaned the bathroom (and a refund of their exorbitant resort fee for one night). 24 hours later, IT HAPPENED AGAIN!! At this point, we need to change rooms. But the hotel is refusing. It has been over an hour that we have notified them of dirty water flooding our bathroom and they can only suggest someone will eventually come clean it. Unacceptable. Broken chairs, rug that doesn’t lie flat, dirty drapes...we were willing to overlook it all for an oceanfront room. But we are paying them $10,000 for the week and every night we have to delay our dinner while we deal with sewage IN OUR ROOM. What in the world?? unbelievable TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best Engagement Venue in Long Island!

I looked at over a dozen places to hold my engagement in Montauk. Gurney's staff was the only one that was genuinely excited to work with me on making it the perfect day. Ginny & Cindy in Guest Relations went above and beyond before, during & after and they managed to throw in a few surprises as well. They personally facilitated the reservation process for dinner at Scarpetta Restaurant to work around my proposal. With the uncertain weather, Ginny helped me plan a Plan A and Plan B, in case it rained. She managed to find a room for me with a beautiful balcony that could accommodate my proposal. Thankfully the rain held up, and I was able to propose on the private beach with total privacy. Afterwards (at Dinner), there was a picture of my proposal on the table for dinner somehow. Our mind's were blown. Gurney's professionalism (especially during Covid) combined with their creativity and energy make this spot one of a kind. Ginny went as far as to follow up with us during and afterwards to ensure it was as amazing as we'd hoped. I recommend Gurney's to anyone looking to put their trust in a venue to deliver on the big day! With Ginny and Cindy, you can't lose! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

What a home away from home! Thank you Team! See you at te Pit Fire!

We got back to NYC after spending 20 days at Gurneys today. We don’t typically write reviews but after reading some of the latest below felt we had to do the hard working team some justice. Any of us guests need to understand that we are being received with a smile and great customer service by a team that’s trying their best during very tough times, to help many of us have a break. They have our same worries and families to care for but come in everyday and try their best. In our humble opinion (the Spanish couple, Sole and Antonio) this is not the time to complaint about water bottles or demand bed turnover at a time when housekeeping staff have already worked for many, many hours. We do absolutely understand the room price is not for everyone but that shouldn’t give anyone the right to demand services not being even considered anywhere in the country...let alone the ocean front, private beach that waked us all up every morning. We could go on and on but we think the point is made. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE everyone at Gurneys. We won’t list names because it’d be unfair for those we leave out but please remain assured this is a totally genuine, first hand review from a couple going back this coming Sunday for another two weeks. At least. Please be considerate with all our staff (now friends) at Gurneys. 506 was our first room and I’d encourage you to find right now a better place in NY Estate. I’ll pay for your upgrade. Team - see you on Sunday and thanks for looking after my office chair ... you are The Best. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best Resort in the Hamptons

I've been hesitant to write a review because this hotel is the best kept secret in NY! Under strict quarantine in Manhattan, my husband and I hadn't left home at all. From the moment we called reservations, Joshua and Hanna, were wonderful. They listened intently to my concerns as a result of this unprecedented time. In June, we left our apt for the first time and headed out east. What we encountered was an oceanfront paradise, gorgeous pool with exceptional drinks, food and most of all, exquisite service. We've traveled all over the world but had real concerns about catching covid19 since we work in healthcare. From the moment, we arrived, the front desk host was cheerful and educated. He offered his direct line in case we encountered any issues. He assured me, I wouldn't be calling. He was right. Everyone from housekeeping to kids working on the beach to the restaurant staff was so lovely, inviting and accommodating. The staff was masked up, the resort was so clean and sterile and you actually felt normal; not like you were in the movie, "Outbreak." As a result of our incredible experience, we booked 4 more weekends. The GM, Michael Nenner, even sent a bottle of champagne with a lovely note to our room. He was so lovely! This resort is less than 3 hours away but I felt I'd traveled to a five star resort in the Caribbean. The entire staff was essential at guiding us back to normal during this crazy time.
