Stunning location, sweet staff but mosquito infested.

The hotel dwells at rather a unique surroundings, overseeing two lagoons, and the Palma bay. The staff are sweet and devoted, however holding a conversation in English isn't really possible. Breakfast is outstanding with an immense variety. There are 3 resto-bars on premise, yet only one is available afternoons / evening - offering fine dining. There is no service around the pool and you'd have to walk to the bar to have anything beyond coffee or ice-cream. Although the hotel renders the beach / lagoon as part of its' promotion - these beaches are public and not part of the hotel. Thus are not maintained nor cleaned. We have observed some sort of tourists ( or vagabonds ) sleeping at the beach. As well as locals visiting and there was not too much space left for the hotel's residents. The hotel is infested with mosquitos. The rooms hold AirCo however at the building itself, dining room and corridors there is no cooling, thus as you open your door's room to enter you would have a flock of mosquitoes rallying around you, the only remedy would be to spray yourself, use anti mosquito bulbs in the room and power up the AirCo - which is either too cold or non functional. Another thing we suffered was that people tend to occupy sun-beds around the pool even though they aren't using them, we even saw people leaving the hotel on excursions whilst leaving towels to lock sun-beds. The hotel goes to the extent of placing signs forbidding that behaviour however we rarely saw any staff member cruising the premise ( e.g. no lifeguard at the pool or beach ). Bottom line - had it been a 100 EUR room per night, we'd say it's a bargain, but when paying circa 380 per night one would expect better service and hygiene. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel is brilliantly located on a headland with lovely panoramic views - a sea view room is a must. The gardens are great with plenty of shade from trees and elegant man-made shades suspended between the trunks. The two pools are attractive and both are over 2m deep in places. You can wander down to two tiny beaches and there's a strip of restaurants on the beach front that's about ten minutes walk. Rooms are modern and a good size but a bit sparse. Corridors are scruffy with peeling paint, ancient furniture and awful artwork. Plumbing occasionally iffy with showers going from hot to cold. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful, and staff at breakfast very efficient indeed at clearing tables and replenishing dishes at the buffet. Breakfast buffet is huge and of a good standard. Bar food at lunch is great. A couple of negatives. The biggest one is that there's only one restaurant open for dinner which wouldn't be an issue but this one is a botched attempt at fine dining. When we went, the menu featured dishes such as "skate with banana" and "rabbit with langoustines" which each merit a prison term for the chef for crimes against cuisine. Service had all the trappings of fine dining - brushing up of crumbs between courses, relentless topping up of drinks - which is OK if the food & wine matches up but it didn't. I left half my tasteless lamb (€34) and it was cleared without comment. There were only about ten red wines on the list, many of which were international varieties like cabernet sauvignon and merlot, which is silly given that Spain and its islands produce so much terrific wine. I asked for a recommendation and was directed to the cheapest wine on the list which indicates a total lack of wine training. The other negative, as extensively mentioned by other reviewers, is that the hotel does not lift a finger to stop guests reserving / hogging sun loungers. It was common to walk around and see half the loungers unoccupied but claimed, many for hours at a time. A little intervention from the hotel here would go a long way. Anyway we enjoyed our stay overall and would probably recommend Punta Negra for a few days if the location and price point suits. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Really great location - Not Boutique!

Overall we were pretty underwhelmed with our stay. We arrived a day late (aircraft problems) having been told that we would have to pay for the day we didn’t arrive (not unreasonable as not the hotels fault). But when we arrived there was clearly an issue with our reservation- I suspect the reservations team didn’t tell the desk as such our room was let go - anyway after too much faffing we got a room. NOT the room we had booked however and so after some upset and an unfortunate temper tantrum on my part we were moved to the sea-view superior room we had booked! Not acceptable and had we not complained we wouldn’t have got what we paid for. The outside area is rather nice, although there are not enough sun loungers for the pool areas meaning on our last day, three of us had the use of one lounger. We asked if they had more and were told no, not even an offer to scout for a couple - pretty disappointing. Getting taxis was a nightmare - you can’t ‘book’ a taxi as such you order and hope one arrives in suitable time. A lottery if you have dinner reservations and the taxi takes an hour to arrive - be prepared. Rooms are good and showers excellent. The staff are very nice and helpful, in particular Carlos went the extra mile to help us so a big thanks to him. Some sensible tweaking and this place would be fantastic. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed here for 5 nights first and it was lovely. Extended again for 4 nights. Then everything turned to custard. Amazing beach and pool area. The ladies at reception try very hard and are nice as are all bar staff. Rooms are a bit outdated. Need to renovate rooms. Had a great stay for the first part and have bad memories now of our stay due to what they charged us. Horrendous service from the Manager. Stay at Riu Palace Playa Bonanza instead. The Manager at the hotel is exceptional at Riu Palace and they go above and beyond to provide the best stay for you. Amazing pools and beach too. Do NOT stay at H10. We booked an extra 4 nights with booking.com and then when we checked in the hotel said there were no rooms available. We rung booking.com and they said H10 hadn't closed off their calendar, so continued taking bookings despite no room. We had paid an exorbitant rate for an extra 4 nights of EUR 2000 per room. The young male manager (not carlos- he is nice) with dark curly hair found us another 2 rooms (one of which was from someone who had already prepaid and left early). He offered the second room to us for a discounted EUR 1100 as we were looking for another property. So we took it for a mountain view room. Then when we paid our bill at the end each room was EUR 2000! The Manager (he sits at the desk in the reception). He took back his word and said that he didn't agree on that price. We had witnesses who heard the deal. It was an oral contract, which he then denied after the stay. This manager is tarnishing H10's reputation, which is such a shame for all the other nice staff. The prices are crazy expensive for what you get. DO NOT STAY HERE. Also 2 of our diamond rings went missing while staying here and no one seems to know where they are. Have filed a police report. We do not know if they went missing at the hotel or on the beach in front of the hotel (as anyone can reach this beach, even though they say it is private, it is not). Watch your valuables. Lunch menu gets boring after a while and is so expensive. EUR 27 for a tiny fish. They charge purely for location and nice bar staff and cleaners and that is all. The safe in our room was never fixed. They tried and it still didn't work. Pool towels have to be changed at reception which is such a pain. Russian guests were leaving cigarette litter on the beach. Beach is dirty as too on the right side. Bins full. Massages are good. Breakfast needs to be open upstairs until 11am not 10.30am. Lawnmoving guy comes around at 8am! on a Monday. You cannot sleep after that. Breakfast is lovely. Beautiful gardens. Smoking at hotel is gross. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Ideal location surrounded of pine trees

Really great location. Restaurant is good too. Service was good with nice waiters, cleaners and reception staff. Recommand the Villa with nice sunbeds on the bay! (we got upgraded but worth the price difference if we would have not!) Furnitures and rooms could be replaced with new ones but quality remains acceptable. We were a week end when hotel looked pretty full. A bit more sunbeds would be good as we have not managed to get one free. But to be fair with the hotel, people are lacking eduction 'reserving' sunbeds (placing towels and few stuff on it) full day but not using them. Despite notice from hotel. I really Recommand if you look for a short break not far from Palma for shopping or restaurants. We will go back for sure! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
