Overrated

Too pricey for condition of hotel and lack of amenities due to Coronavirus. Hotel furniture super worn and burn mark on hassock. Exorbitant non negotiable fee for parking makes the stay in Emeryville too expensive for the TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Rude customer service

There are some customer service associates that were helpful but most of them were rude. It made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We reserved our room for early check in since we were traveling from out of state but they kept sending us back over and over until 5pm even though the original check in was 3pm. Excellent hotel!

Our usual place to stay when visiting our kids attending UC Berkeley. Very modern, well-maintained and managed hotel, with reasonable room rates. Walking distance to Public Market eating commons. Prefer Hyatt House to Hyatt Place nearby, though both are very good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Frustrating experience in covid times

To start with, I stayed in a king suite at this hotel for business. I always pick hotels (when available) that have TVs with built in streaming capability so I can use all my streaming services. Hyatt House has Chromecasts on the back of their TVs, which is nice. However, of the two TVs in my room, one of the Chromecasts didn't work at all and had to be swapped out. Once that was resolved, I came to realize that their network speeds are so slow that the Chromecasts are practically useless anyway. I get that having and maintaining good internet and network speeds is expensive for a hotel, but this is a hotel in a major metropolitan area, and given that a lot more people are having to do more remote work, I'm really disappointed in their lack of decent internet speeds. I hope they work to resolve this in the near future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Working and relaxing. Emerryville is a great location to have fun an experience the culture. Nice hotel views. Parking is 20 or 25$ per night and security is great. Many's shops and food joints close by. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
