Stay away! They lost our stuff from the room. Promised refund but never payed or responded to messages.

Oct 17th, 2018

Stay away from this place. Cleaning staff LOST a specific item of ours. We complained at the reception, and after much explaining, they agreed that they should refund us a specific amount and that we should talk more in the evening. In the evening, the guy who worked at the reception did not speak English and could not understand us at all. The next morning, during our check-out, they promised us that everything is ok and that the manager will contact us after a few days. When that passed and no one contacted me, I tried to contact them by email and Booking but got no response to my messages. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone - one should not have to worry about the safety of his belongings left at the hotel room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Friendly Staff

the Hotel is very nice, friendly staff. however if you want to avoid your room smelling like Vietnamese food i suggest requesting the top floor . the Restaurant downstairs will stink up the whole place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Terrible hotel

Oct 29th, 2017

We arrived at the hotel, which looked run down, and attempted to check in. However the desk clerk spoke only Vietnamese or German, so with gestures we got our room. There is a Vietnamese Restaurant on this level so the cooking odors wafted upwards to the rooms. We pushed the elevator button several times, but nothing happened and finally through gestures with the clerk, we realized it was broken. We dragged our luggage up filthy carpet littered with dead bugs and found our room which was difficult since some of the hall lights weren’t working. Opening the door we were greeted with a disgusting smell and after inspecting the bathroom and finding a dirty sink, we decided we couldn’t stay there. Unfortunately, the WiFi was so weak we couldn’t get on line to book anything else. We finally found spotty coverage on a second floor balcony, got a new hotel and left as quickly as possible. Don’t stay there! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good location, good price, but has some remarks

Jul 12th, 2017

The location of the hotel is great for the centre. We had parking space on the street (I beliefe it was 2 eur/hr rate), and walking distance to the center. The location of the hotel is a quiet location. The price was very attractive compared to other hotels where you can park your car and that are also located nearby the center. Staff is friendly, but not very hospitality minded. They do what they should do, and I didn't had the feeling that they know how to act correct with customers in the hotel business. I had experience with multiple staff members (we stayed two times several nights), and I had the feeling with all staff members. Rooms are very large, bathrooms looks brand-new. But, please, clean the carpet better, it really looked kinda dirty. The hotel isn't very big, there are rooms on two different floors. Please notice the the top-floor doesn't have elevator access. Desks in the room are not very comfortable to work on with the laptop computer. About the airco: I don't think that the unit is really cooling down the room, it's only replacing some air. We didn't used the hotel breakfast, we got some breakfast at a bakery in the centre. Will i stay here again? For a few nights: probably yes. The parking and the price are big pro's for us. Short City Break.

Jun 5th, 2017

Booked a 4 night stay here in May 2017 for myself and my partner. After getting a bit mixed up with the address and not being able to find the place (All my own fault), we arrived at this hotel a tad later than we expected. Check in was short and hassle free. Located our room easily (There are only 15 rooms in total), where we freshened up after our journey and went out and about to get our bearings. Berlin is a lovey city and we made the most of our time to explore it. everything we came to do we fitted into a 4 Night stay, including a day trip to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, Berlin zoo, Checkpoint Charlie, The wall memorial, The Reichstag Building and Tiergarten. Most of this was all within walking distance of the hotel, so it is a great location for sightseeing. There is a Vietnamese Restaurant on sight and the food is absolutely amazing at a reasonable price. Would definitely reccommend the Halong to anyone who is looking to see Berlin.
