Need to Improve Maintanence

Dec 30th, 2019

Not sure whether it can be called as a value for money hotel. Room was cold and no room thermostat to raise the temperature. As a result you can not stay out of your duvet for too long. Despite drawing frontdesk's attention about a light not working in the room it wasn't fixed during my 3 nights stay. Streetside rooms are really noisy at not good for sleeping. Locationwise it was very convenient for me and closer to tram service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good value for money

Dec 7th, 2019

Good location. 10 minutes to the Peace Palace, 20 to the World Forum, 25 to Buitenhof. Breakfast was tasty and with good variety. Bed was comfy. The staff was nice and helpful. Room looked a bit tired, did not find the hairdryer either. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Room is OK, but i hate the shower

Nov 14th, 2019

Maybe because i went in November with an almost continuous rain, but after a long afternoon and night walking in the rain i wanted to take a nice a warm shower before going to sleep, and what i got was a sad little trickle of water coming out from the shower. The problem is not the water pressure which when you open the bath tap is a lot, capable of flooding the bathroom, room, hotel and city in a few minutes, but when you switch to shower, the Niagara falls become.. nothing.. a sad rain. Together with a cold bathroom and a tab that only allow you to select from scalding hot to freezing cold, it make you feel, uncomfortable, it remind you , that you are not at home. The taps are old stile with double temperature control, really all stile and again, hard to adjust. In other hand, the room was clean, the bed was soft (too soft for my test) and a draft of current was always coming from over the window. Thankfully this cold air was neutralised by the nuclear heater after i turn it all the way on. Sorry for the review, maybe was the weather, maybe was the season, but i did not enjoy the room, and the main reason was the shower. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Friendly staff, amazing bed!

Nov 22nd, 2018

I stayed in Stadshotel for one night. The receptionist for that day (Tuesday 20th) was super friendly, and when I asked him a question about something quite bad that had happened to me on the travel to the hotel (totally unrelated to the hotel), he gave me a room upgrade as a good gesture to apologize on behalf of what happened! The room was huge, had a dial to adjust heat, complimentary tea, a safe, a huge mirror, a nice view of Laan Van Meerdervoort, nice bathroom, a lot of lighting options, and of course probably the best hotel bed I've ever slept in (super comfortable and big). On leaving for a walk that night the same receptionist was helpful in pointing out nearby restaurants. As for the next morning a different receptionist was working and he too was very friendly and helpful, with a good sense of humour. The only downside I could find about the hotel was that the breakfast seemed a bit overpriced at €12.50 - not many options in the self-service. Other than that, the stay was perfect. Meh

Great price and good location to get to the World Forum. Other than that? Nothing unfortunately, average rooms and poor breakfast (I don’t suggest to eat the hot dishes). 20 mins by walk to get to the city center and 5 min away from the tram stop. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
