Old and well-worn hotel. Almost worn out from long term delayed maintenance and cleaning. Check in ok. Room visibly needed an overdue deep cleaning. Next morning early found blood or some other bodily fluid stains on the white cloth shower curtain, coffee maker in room not functioning and in the drawer a previous guests Marijuana joint still sealed in a labeled container. Yes, Marijuana is legal in Alaska and I'm not offended by its use. Reported these deficiencies to the front desk. Lady at desk could have cared less. When I mentioned the shower curtain and coffee maker, she asked if the beds were made (??). When presented with the joint she did not say a word; even when I told her it was a good thing a 59 year old found it and not a 4 year old...crickets. Finally she said she needed to talk to housekeeping. Housekeeper sent to room and said shower curtain stain was shampoo (not possible) and coffee makers often fail. Coffee pot and shower curtain were both replaced by next morning. Marijuana issue NEVER addressed. The COVID excuse has everything at this hotel shut down. Lame breakfast bags offered each morning. Very disappointed overall. This property is NOT of Hampton Inn quality and is a blemish on the Hilton brand name. Rates still high and no military or lost amenity discounts. My advise is shop around as you will do better elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Hampton Inn in Anchorage was perfect for my vacation to Alaska. During the days I was off seeing glaciers, wildlife, mountains or enjoying local seafood and breweries. The hotel staff was very friendly, my room was clean and quiet. The heat and AC both worked great, plenty of tv channels, and the bathroom was clean and the water pressure was excellent and water was hot. The shuttle bus to and from the airport was quick, the front desk put my suitcase in storage for me when I checked out/ since my flight wasn't until 10pm. Breakfast hit the spot also. We stayed at this Hampton Inn at the beginning and end of our Alaska vacation. There is a free airport shuttle available when you need them, no longer than a 20 minute wait. The staff was over the top friendly. Our room was the comfort level you always get at a Hampton Inn. COVID measures were in place and followed. Because of COVID, there is no breakfast buffet or coffee in the lobby. However, they are happy to give you what you need to make great coffee in your room. We had 2 choices of bagged breakfast: (1) A breakfast burrito with muffin and a piece of fruit, or (2) a very small yogurt with muffin and a piece of fruit. The yogurt was smaller than the normal individual ones that you get in the grocery store. The muffins seemed like made from a mix and wrapped in cellophane. I would expect a little bit better than this from a Hampton Inn, like a regular size yogurt and a nice bakery muffin. It was a quiet and safe location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I have stayed in Hilton properties all over the US and Canada. This was the worse experience that I ever had! The hotel is somewhat old and run down. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. We booked an upgraded room and when we got there we were told that it was unavailable. They were going to switch us the next day -- but failed to do so. We were there for three days and housekeeping never came. When I complained about it they told me that housekeeping only comes every three days. (Then why was there a sign on the mirror in the bathroom to put dirty towels on the floor??) Two words describe this hotel -- STAY AWAY!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A man entered my room 3 times without knocking starting at 8am. He was not with house keeping. He is the shuttle driver. I called the front desk. The manager rudely said “I will look in to it and have answers” She never called back and was “unavailable” when I checked-out. VERY disappointing and disrespectful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
