Dismal at best.

Dec 25th, 2020

First of all the hotel staff needs a refresher course in hospitality. It does not meet any Hilton standard I’ve ever seen. There is no parking and no discount on the garage close. The rooms do not have fridges or microwave and when I ask for one, you would have thought I ask for the soul of the desk clerk. Speaking of the desk clerk Vic really needs to work on his customer service skills and pleasantries. I’d have give the hotel 0 if I could. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean room

Oct 28th, 2020

When I travel I try to stay in a Hampton Inn. The room was clean and quiet and we enjoyed our view of the church and heart across the street. Prior to COVID they had the best breakfasts but this particular hotel had no breakfast at all. I was expecting a bagged breakfast like the DC Hampton Inn but this hotel only had coffee. Also we ordered takeout and instead of calling from the lobby they allowed the delivery person to bring it directly to our room. It felt very unsafe to open the door for a stranger in a strange city. Smokey Rooms

Oct 10th, 2020

I was given room 609 first, walked in and it smelled like an old ashtray....went back downstairs and the clerk apologized. She immediately contacted housekeeping and said to just give them a few minutes and they would clean a like room (small suite, as reserved)....89 minutes later....89 minutes....housekeeping accomplished the task. Room 1009 also smelled slightly of smoke, but I really did not want to wait another 89 minutes for a new room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bagged breakfast not very good

Sep 15th, 2020

A group of us stayed here as a start point for riding our bicycles down the Ohio to Erie Trail. The hotel's location is excellent for access to our bike route as well as walking to many nice places near the Lake and Public Square. The room was clean, comfortable and functional although the bathroom was of the "old Hampton" variety with a very ordinary shower and small corner mounted sink. Our main complaint has to do with the bagged breakfast that was offered as their answer to COVID-19 dining. Each bag seemed to have a slightly different mix of items from the others, and the foods provided were not my idea at all of a Hampton quality breakfast, especially one meant to fuel a person about to embark on a 40 mile bike ride. Mine contained an unimpressive fruit cup, bottle of juice, Nutri-Grain bar and a packaged "chocolate chocolate chip" muffin that seemed to lack any chocolate chips. Others included a hard boiled egg in the mix. Later on our bike trip we learned that other Hilton properties were serving "made to order" hot breakfasts, yogurt and cereals that were much more like the Hampton experience we have come to love over many many past stays. Next time needing a hotel in this area we will look elsewhere among the many choices. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean, convenient and comfortable

Aug 26th, 2020

My wife and I stayed here for a week while we were in town for a wedding. The property was maintained very well and it was always clean. Day and night we saw workers maintaining the property and keeping it sanitized and safe. We were very happy with our stay. Very close to the city center, peak-a-boo views of the lake from some of the rooms (ours had one on the 10th floor). The ONLY thing (and it's a minor one) is that they do not have parking on site. You can pay for valet parking (it was $35/day), which is what we did. I wish I had known that when I booked. It wasn't budgeted in for the trip but it was well worth it considering the alternatives. Know it going in and you'll be just fine. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
