Hate Their Comforters

The hotel was just OK, nothing particularly good or bad. I had checked in on line to a second floor, but the elevator was out when we arrived, so we switched to a first floor. It was OK, things happen. We were next to the laundry, which was noisy the next morning. All of that I adjusted to, but the bedding is what is making me think about switching to a different frequent traveler program. We have traveled fairly extensively since I retired 6 years ago and always stay in Hilton properties on the road, usually Hampton Inns. All of them have the same bed covering, a white crinkly top side with a silkier white underside. The crinkly fabric irritates my skin. At first I thought it was their detergent, but they all do it, all across the country. They are extremely heavy, and they don’t use blankets, so you have either a sheet alone, or this arctic-level comforter thing. No in between. It’s very irritating. We have to turn the temp way down to sleep comfortably, and then it’s freezing when we get up. This hotel was fine, and if we don’t abandon Hilton properties, I would stay there again. Better maintenance needed

Bugs in room, pool closed for repairs, elevator broke down while inside. What made it a better experience is the staff was very professional and helpful. Location very close to interstate is also very convenient. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overall it was a decent hotel. My stay there wan not a good sample size to give a detailed review. Staff was nice and welcoming. Service was good. Only complaint was the noise and footsteps coming from the 50 or so kids or teenagers that stayed on the floor above. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is going to be one of the worst reviews I have given so far. I have stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns/Hilton’s and this has got to be the worst rooms I’ve been in. The front desk staff was great. The first room we checked into at this location was room 219. We walked in and I noticed the bed looked like it had been laid in. I walked into the bathroom and there was a used coffee cup on the counter and the toilet had cigarettes in it and it had been used but never flushed. It almost looked like it had been dirty so long it was looking a little moldy. I went down stairs and told the lady at the front desk was the room was like. I asked for a room close to that one so we didn’t have to move our luggage very far. Room number two was 221 across the hallway. We moved our stuff over and I checked the bathroom and as I pulled the covers back on the blankets there was hair everywhere. On the pillows the sheets and the comforter. I told my wife no way can we stay in this room. So here I go back down stairs again. You guys might be wondering why we didn’t move to another hotel. We just traveled 800 plus miles and we booked the room the hotel tonight so we knew it would not be easy getting a refund. So back down stairs I go and I tell the front desk it’s almost as bad as the first room. She apologized again and said we will comp your room and gave us room number 222. The third room in about 30 mins. We move our stuff to the new room. I check the bathroom and it had a bar of used soap in the shower. I check the bed and it looked clean. A few minutes later I open the closet and there is guys shirts hanging in the closet. I call down and tell the lady at the front and she’s sounds like she’s in the same shock we are in. I tell her we are tired and it’s been a very long day come up and get the stuff from the closet and we will stay in this room. It makes you wonder what percent of the room is even cleaned each day. Oh and the room we found cigarettes in the toilet was a non smoking room. In the morning I talked to the front desk and she told me they will try to refund our night but not sure how to. I guess we will see if they stand behind their 100% satisfaction guarantee. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I was impressed with not only the reasonable rates, but also the cleanliness of everything in this hotel. The breakfast choice was broad and delicious. Omelets, potatoes, sausage, fruit, pastries, and more! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
