Average hotel experience

My wife and I spent 2 nights at this hotel in mid-July. The room was OK but we never were able to get the A/C regulated properly. The breakfast buffet was OK but the two tables we used for breakfast each day needed some cleaning due to children getting syrup on the table and chair edges. For some reason, we had to get our key cards re-keyed every time we came back to the hotel. I believe we were in room 202. The second evening we came in, our key, as before, did not work. When we went down to the front desk, 3 or 4 people were standing there telling the clerks that their reserved rooms had been given to other folks. One man said someone was already in the room he had just been given the key to. All of this was happening around 10:00-10:30pm. The clerks seemed confused and were trying to call the manager's cell phone but were having to leave messages. Needless to say, all of the people in the lobby were very upset. In addition to all of that, there was a woman in the stairwell screaming at someone on her cell phone. That must have gone on for at least 30 minutes. Fortunately, the clerk did re-key our room key. We were happy to leave the next morning. I doubt that we will stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very Clean and Quiet

I stayed here one night while attending the Rockingham County fair. The hotel was very clean, including the room. I have never seen a hotel room this clean. The front desk staff was the only staff I had interaction with and they were very friendly and helpful. I ate a quick breakfast the morning of check out. The selection of hot and cold foods, along with beverages, were more than adequate to satisfy anyone's breakfast cravings. The seating area was larger than most hotels. The best part of my stay was the fact that I did not hear the folks in the rooms next door or below me. I used the advance check in feature, which allowed me to chose my room the day before check in. I chose the top (5th) floor, Room 519. I never heard outside noise even though the parking lot was full of vehicles. This was the first night in a long time that I didn't have the keep the fan running in order to block out noise. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful Place to Stay

My mom and I were on a roadtrip and our car broke down off of exit 243 in Harrisonburg VA. We got towed to the Hampton Inn and from the time we got there until the time we left, they were nothing but cordial and so helpful. The maintenance man William was beyond nice as was the girl at the front desk from Mexico. They knew we were stuck and offered to let us order lunch with them. They were super sweet and talked to us for a while. We had to extend our stay due to our car problems. Everyone was very kind and pleasant. The hotel was super clean and comfortable! It is easy access to the highway and also restaurants etc. I suggest traveling to the Purple Wolf Winery and lavender fields!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overnight Stay

We stayed in Harrisonburg while in the area to visit Harper’s Ferry. Clean and comfortable room and nice self-serve breakfast. Our one suggestion would be to arrange for better training for the desk clerks. But overall a good stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beware of third party booking fees!

I was not aware that when booking your room most of the time you are connected directly to a third-party company . When that happens they charge a mystery fee of anywhere between eight and $13. They identify themselves as a third-party but they do not tell you that they’re going to charge you extra. My advice, call the hotel directly to avoid these charges. The hotel was fine the rooms were great so I do recommend staying there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
