Another great stay

Started staying here 3 years ago and have never been disappointed. Great gm,staff,proximity to restaurants and highway plus dinosaur park ,Glastonbury ferry and Hartford. Stuart runs a tight ship and the pool is such a bonus as,is the onsite store.good sleep,clean and well managed TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Loud door noises in hallway

Ive stayed in this hotel during my last business trip and didn’t sleep well. Room doors do not close properly and you’ll hear doors clapping from your neighbors all night. I won’t stay here ever again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disrespected and disappointed

My family and I stayed with an employee and had two rooms booked in town for the hospice and eventual death of a family member during our 2 night stay. This was actually our second time staying at this location because originally we were very comfortable and happy with our past experience. As it stands today, WE WILL NEVER recommend, refer, suggest, direct, ANY family member, friend or business associate to stay here. Upon check in we were informed that there would be no attempt at providing guests with breakfast due to pandemic, which at a minimum a "grab and go breakfast" which I have experienced at two other hotels recently would have been appreciated. But that was fine. The second day there was some confusion from what was starting to appear to be an unprofessional staff, (randomly knocking at the door with no good morning or customer greeting) with no knowledge whatsoever that we were staying there for a second night. We politely declined room service, and requested extra wash rags and a towel considering we had two adults and two young children in our guest room. This where it gets comedic. Upon the charges posting to my family's account this week, we discovered an upcharge. We immediately contacted someone for further explanation of the increase. We were told "that there were wash rags and towels missing from both of the rooms we occupied". Never ever heard that before, not even in my college age days, not from any hotel stay domestic or abroad had this accusation been made to me before. Ultimate disrespect that an establishment of this kind would accuse guests of stealing public washcloths that frankly anyone can purchase for $1 or towels at Walmart up the road. Are these folks serious? Is it not possible for someone to miscount what was in the room before outright accusing paying guests? The last thing on our minds would have been pocketing reused property that does not even belong to us less than 24 hrs after watching someone die before our eyes. Everyone in family makes an honest living and does pretty well for themselves. It sickens me to think that regardless of their knowledge of the situation, that one could be so petty and go as far as rearranging charges off of accusation and no valid merit of proof. How ridiculous is this?!! Up next we will all be making YouTube videos and posts on our social media platforms if this is the type of level that this place likes to stoop to. Find better, get treated better and more professional is my hope for anyone coming to this area. There are multiple options. The Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, the Sheraton, Comfort Inn to name a few. Find a hotel and staff that doesn't make it a point to disrespect their guests with petty accusations and unfounded upcharges. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t come here TERRIBLE customer service & you’ll get charged with unauthorized fees as well

Stayed here and absolutely regret it! So called “owner” was rude and not understanding at all. Wifi is bad, overpriced snacks at front. Was charged a fee of $200, which isn’t fair because I don’t even smoke! I tried getting a hold of them and couldn’t so I left work early just to wait around for hours and to not get nothing resolved ! Never again will I stay here. Waste of money and they are extremely rude as well. Trying to reach cooperate right now to file a complaint against them and get my money back as well! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very good Holiday Inn Express

We’ve stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels in the states and in Europe. This one was excellent. The manager was super nice. The room was a nice size and had all the amenities you need. Iron and board, safe, refrigerator, a little microwave, room darkening shades, comfortable bed. Nice closet and drawer space. It was all very clean. The breakfast buffet was OK for the price (included with the room price), with a good variety and very nicely presented. The lady supervising breakfast was so friendly and helpful.
