Centrally located and private balcony overlooking waterway

Oct 24th, 2020

Positives: Front desk staff was helpful and followed up when a room below us was loud; The Lazy Goat is adjacent and has delicious food; private balcony for some of the rooms; ideally located near restaurants and shops and trails; large HG television Negatives: Breakfast (no fruit or juice); bed was uncomfortable; housekeeping was not wearing a mask (which was in contradiction to Hilton standards for COVID-19); some guests defied mask mandate; rooms were not as clean as would be expected (hairs on floor) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay in handicap room!!! Highly recommend!

Oct 16th, 2020

The room was extremely clean and had a seal on the room door that guaranteed cleanliness and that was very reassuring during this COVID period. The handicap toilet was at an excellent height and the safety bars were fantastic. When we checked in our rooms AC was making a humming noise and the front desk clerk immediately gave us a new handicap room without hesitation. This allowed us to have a great night sleep, so thank you. The hotel is very quiet overall and you can’t ask for me when you’re trying to relax. The hotel offers valet service which is beyond helpful and is for a 24 hour period, so you can put all your luggage in your vehicle and visit the town without worry of extra parking fees. The extra price was well worth it. Thank you for a great visit and we will be back again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

NOT your typical Hampton Inn!!

Sep 19th, 2020

I was visiting some family in Greenville and had the pleasure to stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites, Riverplace and I had such a lovely stay. The location of the hotel is just about perfect, as it's right along the river and about midway between north and south main street. There are tons of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops within a 5 minute walk. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful. If you have any issues during your stay you can rest assured they will be resolved quickly. The rooms are spacious and have great views. They're also very quaint, as the hotel is farm from any roadways. I'd recommend spending a little extra and getting a riverfront room. This hotel felt more like a luxury boutique hotel that you'd find in Charleston or Savannah than it did a Hampton Inn. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Greenville. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful Location, Magnificent Staff

Sep 17th, 2020

We've recently moved from the Upstate to Columbus, NC. My husband needed surgery at Prisma GMH 3 miles/6-10 minutes from this hotel. In this time of Covid19, it is a delight to have an accommodation requiring mask wearing for staff and guests; hand sanitizer is available everywhere. Better yet, all of the staff, but especially Marshall, have been wonderful and have gone above and beyond to assist me in many varied ways. We have stayed here multiple times in the past due to its proximity to the Peace Center and nearby culinary delights. This has been the best stay yet! Kudos to Marshall. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just meh in an average way

Sep 16th, 2020

The best part is the cleanliness of this particular Hampton, it was really well done. Everything seemed sanitized, and fresh feeling, a definite plus. The hotel location is excellent as well, as it is right on the river and within walking distance of some nice restaurants. On the downside, the usual hot breakfast (which is still advertised btw) is no longer available, replaced by a bottled water and basically a honey bun. Not good. The bed in my room wasn't really all that comfortable and the AC was overly noisy. Sounds a bit like nitpicking probably, but I guess I expected a bit better stay. Lastly, my rare encounters with the staff were pleasant and the parking is $7/day, which was fine. All in all, an average stay. Can't give the place an up or a down really, it was just meh.
