Worse stay ever, STOP!!!!look somewhere else

When I decided to stay here with my family it was because I assume Hampton Inn were good quality hotels. This particular Hampton Inn was one of the worse stay I had with my family. The hotel was dirty, it smell of weed in the elevator, the carpet was extremely dirty in the first room we had. I do give credit for acting very fast on switching the room we stay the first night because the refrigerator was not working, The second room it was a little more cleaner, however the bathroom was falling apart. If you are looking for a quiet night sleep, this is not the place. Not sure what type of people were staying at this hotel but there was always yelling, arguments, slamming doors and just not quiet. Over all this place was not what my family expected, we have stay at hotels that we rated 3 stars even one 2 stars this is our first 1 star we rate on a hotel. If you stay best of luck, hope you don't get stuck at the elevator because that thing shakes like it's about to get stuck. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Go somewhere else!!!

Stayed here Thursday thru Sun and wish I would have went with my first instinct to leave. For starters the first part of the parking lot was blocked off every day we stayed which led to us having to park in the back of the hotel every time we returned. Also even though its during covid, all other hotels I've stayed at has offered a to go breakfast which usually includes prepackaged muffins, cereal bars, burritos ect along with a piece of fruit and milk/juice. Housekeeping is non existence and you have to bring dirty towels to the front desk in order to get clean ones. I was told that you cant call for housekeeping. They didn't even give you plastic bags to put the dirty towels in. There was also always strange people roaming the grounds and our floor smelled heavily of marijuana. There was hardly ever an attendant on duty just a note telling you to call a number for assistance. I think this contributed to people just loitering around. I was also shocked that there wasn't a closet in my room. There's a place for the ironing board but no bar to actually hang up your clothes. And the curtains did not close all the way so every night the security light shined bright in our room. The furniture is very outdated as well and you only get a very very thin comforter but more of a sheet to go on your bed. I would advise anyone against staying here and do yourself a favor and book elsewhere TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This hotel definitely needs to be updated/renovated. THE COMMON AREAS WERE CONSTANTLY DIRTY, plain and simple. I stayed in the property nearly a week--I was in Houston on business. My room had this pungent odor the minute I walked in through the threshold. My nose adjusted to it. The carpet in my room had deep purple stains on it. The blanket ("duvet") was thin and not plush at all. The leather chair by my desk was all beaten up. Just about the best thing I can say about this stay, was the overly hot water in the shower (not lukewarm, but HOT), and, surprisingly, the noise level at night (IT WAS QUIET). The maid on my floor wasn't even wearing a mask the day I left. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Asking for receipt was an issue

I called to get my receipt emailed to me and the person was asking for personal information that was not necessary. I told “Evelyn” my name and date of my stay and she was asking for my address and other information. This was a past trip, I only needed a receipt!!!! A simply question for a simple task. Showing its age...

Although I didn't have any serious issues staying at this Hampton Inn, it's definitely seen better days. The parking area near the main street has been blocked off so you can't park there (might be for security reasons that have been mentioned in other reviews I've seen). Fortunately, I didn't have any issues finding a parking spot during my stay as the front parking area seems to have enough room for the number of guests staying there at the time. Now, on to the room itself...although it is spacious and roomy, it's looking quite dated now. The decor and furnishings look like what most Hampton Inns looked like maybe 5-10 yrs ago. The headboard is old-fashioned and not modern. The desk chair has worn spots on the armrests where it hits the desk. The regular chair is old-fashioned looking with no footstool or side-table. The lamps for the bed have switches that are kind of high up so you would have to sit up in the bed in order to reach it. The TV is definitely old with a very thick bezel and not thin...looks to be at least 8-10 yrs old, and not very big screen...maybe 32". A/C unit is still controlled by the control panel on the unit itself and not by the thermostat (there is one installed on the wall but it did not appear to be functional). There is a small M/W but it sits on top of the in-room fridge...does not look very good that way, but they were both functional. There's also a coffeemaker in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, the toilet is one of those noisy pressure-operated kind so everyone in the room above or next to you will hear you flush or when they flush. Water pressure from the showerhead was fine and it uses one of those with an adjustable spray which is nice. The free breakfast is exactly what I expected...low-quality but edible. The potatoes were mushy and bland. The cheese 'omelet' was tasteless and forgettable. No bacon or sausage that I can recall. The danishes tasted dry and hard like they were a day old (or more). The fruit however, wasn't bad...not too mushy and tasted fresh. There were never very many people eating when I went around 6:45 am, so that speaks volumes to the food quality or maybe there weren't very many guests staying there. Although there was someone at the front desk when I checked in, there didn't seem to be someone there at all times...most of the time, there wasn't anyone at the front desk when I left for work and also on the day I checked out. I had to go bug the manager (I think) who was in his office a little ways down the hall. I'm not sure I'd come back to stay at this Hampton Inn until it gets a full make-over. I only picked this hotel because it's in the Hilton chain and not far from where I was working. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
