Great long weekend in the "Burgh"
Aug 6th, 2020
Chelsea, the front end manager, was wonderful and we felt very rested here for a few days. The hotel takes the pandemic serious so ample sanitation stations. It was not crowded so we had no issue with any guests and everyone was pleasant. You are right across the street from the Heinz History Museum; 5 mins from restaurants, and less than 10 minutes from basically any major sight by car. Keep in mind, for now, restaurants are limited and there is no daily housekeeping but they will quickly deliver towels or pick up trash if requested. We plan on returning again once everything reopens. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Comfortable, Convenient, Safe, Quiet

Kudos to friendly, helpful, hardworking front desk staff. Kudos to housekeeping for clean, sparkly room. Kudos to Corporate for taking advantage of the low-occupancy situation to initiate hotel upgrades and update. Kudos to management for pulling this all together in a seamless manner. Great location for museum, cultural site visits. Warhol, Carnegie Museums, Point Park, Heinz (Smithsonian) Museum (across from the lobby), universities, stadiums, etc. I was in contact with the Front Desk upon booking. They accommodated early check in and (1-hour requested) late check-out. Requested some immediate area specific information before and again upon arrival -- distance and walking times to two primary area attractions - Point Park (1.25 miles along darkish river walk, past homeless site at the Lawrence Convention Center) and Warhol Museum (.75 miles across bridge walkway). Info on public transportation not readily available upon asking. Front Desk offered photocopied pages -- close area map, list of open restaurants, eateries. Front desk either did not know or underestimated the time and distance by 60%. We would have driven instead of walking. Recommend the hotel have sheet on file with estimated walking and driving distances to nearby and a variety of city attractions. I presume that the employees were either too young or too new to anticipate questions like these. I recommend to management to incorporate information training / handouts into their best practices policy. Arrival -- Parking is accessible via a key card swipe into a well-lit car barriered lot. Hotel is in the process of an update -- lobby areas seem to be closer to finish than middle. Apart from a few workmen and some construction pieces at the far end of the parking lot, we didn't notice anything. Very minor 15 minute check-in delay due to weekly system update. Recommend that Corporate arrange to update either in the lowest customer hours (1:00 am -- 4:00 am) or ensure one station always be free for guest check-in / out. There was at least one other customer waiting to check in behind us. The Front Desk clerk offered our party beverages from the cooler in the store -- that was very welcome. Thank you. The room was very clean. Going so far as to say sparkly! When I checked the drawers before vacating, some had significant short pet (cat?) hairs in them. Recommendation to housekeeping: Check all drawers, vacuum and wipe insides. Comfortable beds. Firm but not hard. Good shower. The AC unit is extremely loud and seems to run a few degrees cooler than the thermostat indicates. COVID Bag Breakfast was adequate but not outstanding. Microwavable Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, cheese or bacon, egg, cheese sandwich, Dole fruit cup, yogurt bakery bar, 10 oz apple juice. Think budget airlines. Recommend breakfast hand out station separate from front desk for traffic purposes. Maybe when Lobby update is complete. Vegetarian, lactose free options: Banana, orange, apple, nut butter, mini bagel, milk, cereal Checkout was fast, easy, friendly Staff was friendly and generally helpful. Easy, close access to freeways. Great stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Awesome place to stay in Pittsburgh
Jul 19th, 2020
Beautiful, roomy and modern rooms in a great location at a reasonable cost. My husband and I stayed here after finishing the Great Allegheny Bike Trail. It is across the street from the Heinz History Center and just a short walk to the Strip district where there are cafes and shops. A special shoutout to Chelsey who checked us in. She was personable and made great recommendations and always greeted us when we came and left the hotel. We loved Pittsburgh. The highlights for us were Mount Olympia and the Duchesne funicular, the Phipps Conservatory, Point state park, the Strip district and riding our bikes along the water, over bridges and to PNC park. Also, visit Peach, Love and Little Donuts. I'm not a donut lover but thought they were awesome!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
nice place to stay

Very nice associates. They made me feel comfortable. I was in town for my Uncles funeral and,( I believe the front desk woman's name was Chelsea), was very nice to me. Although the building was under construction they put me in a newly remodeled room as far away from any noise as possible. It seems like the place is managed very well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I stay at this wonderful establishment whenever I am in or near Pittsburgh. Chelsey at the front desk typifies the great service, knowledge and cheerful care of those who work here. Go often and then go again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
