Hampton Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor

Mar 10th, 2020

Friendly helpful staff and clean hotel. Walking distance to Inner Harbor, restaurants and places for coffee. Complimentary breakfast included. Complimentary coffee/tea in lobby. Valet parking. Not crazy about having to pay extra to park my car, but that seems to be the way with all of that area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very convenient location and comfortable stay. Service was impeccable and friendly staff. Easy booking and check in process. I like the fact that you can include parking with your reservation. I would stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Diesel technician

Miss Kia and Miss Brianna at the front desk did everything they could to make my trip very comfortable by helping me with any questions or concerns I had. Some examples are lost room keys, broken garbage disposal, switching rooms Etc. Thank you for being so patient with me and solving all my issues. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No communication by hotel, no pool, no gym

Feb 24th, 2020

Beware no pool or gym as advertised! I'm sad to say our stay at this hotel fell into the bait and switch category. We booked this Hampton Inn specifically for the pool and exercise room. We are basically locals, living less than an hour away, and the key reason to book the hotel was to go swimming with our incredibly excited 3 yo. When I booked 6 weeks ago, there was no notice on the website, during the reservation process, or in my reservation notice that the pool and exercise room would not be available. We were surprised to walk into a lobby under construction. The person checking us in said there would have been no online notice at the time of our booking. I asked the front desk person where alternate pool access had been arranged for guests and he said the only option they had would be to waive the cancellation fee if we wanted to leave. After we waited in line and after our car was already in valet parking. And during peak-toddler nap time. As I told the front desk person, we absolutely would have changed hotels - quite likely still within the Hilton hotel family - had we gotten advance notice of the state of the hotel. Our suitcase was half full with swimsuits and workout gear. We had to break the news to a very disappointed and upset 3 year old that he could not go swimming as we - and, indeed, Hampton Inn - had promised. Hampton Inn did not provide notice at the time of reservation, sent no email after to inform us that the promised facilities were not actually available, and made no alternate arrangements for guest use of other pool and gym facilities. The half-hearted last minute offer to waive a cancellation fee provided no real opportunity to find a different hotel, and would have cost us even more in effort and time and traffic, having waited and valet parked already. Other minor issues: only one elevator worked. The "weekly update" on the supposedly current status of the construction that was posted by the elevator was dated mid-December, 2 months ago. There is no hook or bar for hand towels in the room bathroom for hand towels. The fresh towels are stacked high above the toilet that could be hard to reach. Our sink drained poorly - we did not mention that so I do not fault them. The front desk person was friendly, even tho his hands were tied. I suggest that Hampton Inn higher-ups look at the stay from the view of the customer: from being denied promised services to how to dry hands in the bathroom. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Renovations underway!

Feb 24th, 2020

The extensive renovations result in some residual dust in the lobby, elevators and hallways. Workmen have to share the only working elevator and while they were exceedingly courteous, it did make for a crowded elevator at times. Our room appeared to have been just renovated but the sink didn't drain and the glass-doored refrigerator light would not turn off - making for a very large "night-light"> TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
