Never again

Not at all like website, great location and entrance that's where it ends. Ok breakfast hot food always cold chipped crockery and glasses. Carpet filthy, same bathroom, pillows should go in bin. Room never cleaned bed just made.Towels grey not white. We opened window and it fell of hinges reported to staff who showed no interest. Renovations happening which we were not told about. Over prices and staff are smiley but don't care. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location

Dec 4th, 2019

I was worried about this hotel which was booked by a friend after reading the reviews but was pleasantly surprised! Luckily we had a refurbished room in the attic which slept 4 of us. It was fresh, clean and had a brand new bathroom. We didn't eat breakfast as there are plenty of lovely cafes nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The best thing about this hotel is the location as it is so close to the main square and market. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice but creaky (location location location)

Dec 3rd, 2019

Stayed here for 4 nights. 2 mins away from the market. Perfect location, good few bars around, some night shops. We got an email regarding construction, so at least we knew before we arrived. The staff at reception were lovely. The lift is very very small. When you get off at the second floor it was like a construction site, you need to try find the light switch for the hallway. The room was compact, old furniture (wobbly legs). Some broken tiles in the bathroom. The bed was fairly ok. You can hear EVERYTHING in the room above (everything they say) floors are very creaky - no matter where you walk on it. The shower pressure is very poor, would take about an hour to wash my hair! Walked in the tiles in the bathroom and it went down. Hopefully when the construction/refurbishment is done, it will be a hotel you would want to go back to. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dire

The only good things about the hotel are the central location and the look of hte breakfast room. Our shower either dribbled hot water or blasted cold, which caused a flood since the screen wasn't properly sealed. The mattress was much too soft, giving me a painful back and the pillows too hard. The ceiliing tiles were stained, probably because of similar problems on the third floor. There was rarely anyone on reception. By the time I found someone tpo complain to, I was told it was too late (second day of three) to change the rooom. Bruges is a beautiful city so the hotel didn't spoil our trip. Not as good as it looks!!

Nov 24th, 2019

Me and my partner booked this hotel for a one night stay to see the Xmas markets. We booked the hotel and several hours later were sent another eMail to advise that there were some minor building works going on at the the hotel. Ok, we thought; should not be a problem for one night. As we arrived at the hotel we could see scaffolding. Not a problem. We booked in and were given a room on the first floor. We took a 3' x 3' elevator up as instructed by the receptionist, somewhat a tight fit with bags. As we exited the lift we were greeted to a view of the other half of the hotel, a building site. Guess they forgot to mention the building works were so extensive. The receptionist was a very bright and helpful young lady. The room was a little cold so we checked the one small radiator under one of the two very large windows only to find it was on full but still very little heat coming from it. No spare blankets either. The bathroom, while appointed well had several badly cracked tiles filled in with corking and were stone cold. No pun intended. We put the towels on the floor to stop our feet from freezing up. When we turned on the sink hot water we got a luke warm trickle. As for the radiator in there, it did not work at all. The bed was very comfortable but the very poor excuse for pillow were so lumpy and small we used a pair of chair cusions. Also it should be noted that there is no kettle or facilities to make a hot drink in the room. We decided to go down the stairs the next morning and got stabbed in the hand by two protruding nail heads sticking out of the makeshift bannister. Given the price of this hotel we were very disappointed. Good points: Very nice staff and a very comfortable bed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
