I hated my time at ‘Happy’Hostel so much that before I had spent a night there, I left and found another place to stay. The place creeped me out, it has a really horrible atmosphere and feels unclean. I FaceTimed a couple of people from home and showed them around the room and they thought similarly. It started off badly, with no one at the check in desk, so I went to find someone who checked me in and started to make inappropriate jokes about bringing girls back etc. Then the room looked like I had time travelled back into the 70s, and not in a good way. I didn’t feel safe leaving my things there and I know that if I stayed, I wouldn’t have slept well because I felt so unsafe. When I left, again there was no one at the front desk so I left the key there and walked away. This place really took away from my enjoyment of Vienna. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very good location,at walking distance to Westbahnhof train station(from this point you can take also some trams, two metro lines or a direct bus to the airport).Placed on a very quiet street.Kind personnel eventhough not all of them speak english. The room had a very well equiped kitchenette, with cooking machine, freezer, microwave oven, cooking pots and tableware. As minuses:old sheets and towels, very poor quality WiFi,no one at the reception in many moments. Nice and clean room on a tight budget

The room was located inside an apartment and we had access to a full kitchen. There was also a washing machine. The room was very big and clean. The furniture and fixtures are a bit old and shabby and the location was further from the central area (Hofburg, Opera, museums) than what I originally thought. It's very close to Westbanhof and there are lots of restaurants, pubs and shops in the area. Note: the shops are open only until 18.00 on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I booked a quadrouple room with private bathroom but ended up receiving an apartment which did not even belong to Happy Hostel (Guesthouse Arabella), this i found out during the checkin process. The apartment we got was extremly dirty (everything was sticky, the sheets were unchanged, the towels were used and stained). When we went back to the Happy Hostel reception, the response we got was -We are not responsible for that apartment. We did however get in touch with the owner of Arabella Guesthouse ( who talked rude to me and wasnt helpful at al) and we managed to get the sheets changed and some basic cleaning was done the following day. However, I ended up having to stay 5 nights in a place i didnt even choose to, without internet or cable tv. Basically, I did not receive what I paid for! The reception guy from Happy Hostel was also not helpful, he wasnt able to give us basic information about parking and so on. When I called the reception, the night of the arrival, regarding the extreme dirt problem, he was “nice enough” to just hang up the phone. Also, at the end of our horrific stay, I received an invoice from Happy Hostel, even though we did not even end up staying there!!Extremly dissapointed and I wouldnt recommend this place!!! Good but it can be better

The room and the service was good but the wi-fi and the parking can be improved. Nevertheless it is an affordable place which can be used for your short-stay in Vienna. Major attractions easily reachable by Metro or by Tram. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
