A Slice of Heaven in St. Helena

Sep 22nd, 2020

Except for 10 days of evacuation due to wildfires, I spent the past six months at my home. For a traveler like me, this was more of a challenge than trekking the Himalaya. I chose Harvest Inn as a way to test the travel waters, so to speak, and I was quite pleased. I stayed in a vineyard view room with a spa. This spacious room was separated into two areas by a pony wall: the bed had a view of the vineyard, the living room area had a view of the large lawn and redwoods. The bed area opened to a brick patio with a hot tub, a lounge chair, two sitting chairs and a table. Except for an occasional walker, the patio was private, with a tall wall separating my unit from the one next door. The bathroom had a double sink, separate tub, and shower. It came well equipped with towels to make up for the lack of routine housekeeping during my stay. The trees and the offset of the buildings cushion the rooms from the highway noise. It is difficult to believe the Inn in on the major Napa thoroughfare. There are several “pods” of buildings, each designed to have its own ambience. For example, one has a koi pond. Mine had a large lawn and twisty brick chimneys and support columns. The brick work all over the property is quite artful and worth a stroll to admire. Harvest Inn has chairs set at various places on the property. If you don’t book a vineyard view room, you can still enjoy the views with a glass of wine. The vineyard just outside the vineyard view rooms is used by Whitehall Lane Vineyards. Harvest Inn guests can walk through the vines and admire them, but no picking. The rows and rows of grapes just about ready to be harvested were a delight to walk through. My room came with a complimentary bottle of Whitehall Lane wine. That’s helped me resist the temptation to see what the grapes tasted like! Harvest Inn made many changes to accommodate the COVID protocol. I hope that most of them end up as standard in the future. They have online check-in so that when you arrive, you need only to pick up your key. They eliminated all the paper and magazines in the room. That’s more room to spread out your things! Housekeeping is only by request, which means I can sleep in and not be woken by a knock on the door. Three nights at Harvest Inn rejuvenated me! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful back yard vineyard

Sep 22nd, 2020

This hotel is beautiful surrounded by huge pine treen and a vineyard. Ok pool and big rooms. I would say it’s a 3 star plus but not a 4 star. Old buildings and rooms need to be remodeled. Over priced for what it is. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Truly Amazing

Sep 13th, 2020

I wish I could give this place 500 stars. In a year where almost everything has been difficult, our stay at Harvest Inn was the rare bright purely positive light. The location was perfect, the service was above and beyond what I could have ever imagined. I want to specifically shout out Ashley who is truly the most wonderful person I’ve ever interacted with at a hotel. She was understanding, kind, fun, and amazing. Be sure to visit the Harvest Table is you’re able to! Food, drinks, and service were phenomenal. Honestly before, during, and (HOPEFULLY) after COVID, one of the most special trips we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful setting

Aug 29th, 2020

My family and I were recently evacuated due to local wildfires with our dogs. We were lucky to find this amazing hotel had rooms available and allowed dogs! The staff was kind and understanding about our situation. We had to extend our stay several times as we had no idea when we would be allowed to return home. The hotel was always accommodating. The hotel grounds were well kept and beautiful. My adult children had a beautiful view of the vineyards and loved the peaceful environment. My husband and I had a room close-by next to a koi pond. I truly enjoyed sitting by the pond at night and relaxing with a glass of wine from the bar. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. The beds were comfortable and we loved the in-room coffee and tea. I can't say enough about how wonderful this hotel is and we absolutely plan on coming back again for a vacation!
