Worst Experience Ever
Feb 28th, 2021
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We’re at a 24 hour hotel/casino but nobody works here to have water brought up to your room at 5am. I had to walk all the way down and through the casino scavenging for water bottles. The staff is complete dog s*#t. I will never set foot in this hotel after this horrific stay. Not worth the money or the hassle. 0/5 if I could. - room 1236 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Service was great, room was dated and in disrepair
Feb 22nd, 2021
We stayed in a deluxe queen room and it was so weird. I liked that it had 2 bathrooms and I'm sure 25 years ago it was an okay (if weirdly shabby chic) room but definitely not what you'd expect to see in a Harrah's. The tables, counters, etc. were totally banged up. The bathroom door was broken. There was no blow dryer in the bathroom. The windows had tons of condensation on the inside and the sills had bubbled paint from all of the moisture. The couch pillows were weird pleather. The mattresses were about 8 inches tall and suuuper basic. I think I've had better in a Motel 6. There were no outlets on the table by the beds for devices. I honestly felt like I'd been transported back to the mid-90s to a Cozy 8 or something. The room didn't smell bad. There were no signs of bed bugs. The room was cleaned well. There wasn't loud partying in the hotel. The valet/bell team was absolutely outstanding, personable and friendly. I will not stay here again unless it's the only room I can get and it's a comped room. I was sorely disappointed to pay nearly $800 for two nights. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Worst hotel/casino I’ve stayed at
Feb 19th, 2021
Harvey’s is trash, they claim to have spent $40M on renovations and if that’s true, I’m guessing it was ALL spent on Hell’s Kitchen. Restaurants all require reservations via open table and no heads up was provided. I understand COVID restrictions but finding food and eating out was near impossible. Avoid staying at Harvey’s and choose Harrahs instead (if looking for a casino). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not for romantic getaways
Feb 16th, 2021
Stayed 2 nights to celebrate anniversary. Pros: - great location - connected to harrahs for easy walking around - nice staff - Sage Room restaurant at top floor was fantastic, mah be best dinner i ever had - hand sanitizer stations everywhere - comfy bed Cons: - dated, rather depressing room - bathroom was dated and shower had some flooding - expensive for lackluster experience - hot tub and pool were lukewarm/cold (felt like we shouldn't have had to pay resort fee) - overall experience was underwhelming Not romantic really at all. Seems like a good place to get drunk and crash while at stateline/going to Heavenly, which is totally good if that's what you're looking for. All in all, we were grateful for the stay but will look for better options in our next visit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Check in staff needs behavioral training
Feb 15th, 2021
This review is for the behaviour of one of the staff at check in counter: Vannessa We had booked a balcony suite at Harvey's for the weekend. Upon check-in, Vanessa tried to push for a non balcony room. I mentioned that I had reserved a balcony suite with a view and she casually replied that balcony suites have no view for the ones upto 7th floor. So I requested a higher floor and for some reason that didn't go down well with her. She began replying as if she was doing me a favor by giving a suite at all. She replies "do you want to continue your check in as I can only guarantee a room".. She gestured me to move along(I ignored it the first time but she did it repeatedly) . The lady behind me noticed it and called her out saying "she is been rude and unprofessional to me and my wife". Vanessa then threw a fit at the lady behind me "mind your own business". I asked her to be nice and we are just asking for whatever we paid. The lady behind me told her she is going to put this in her review and Vanessa replies "Please do and make sure to spell the name correctly Vanessa." These are her exact words. Her tone and attitude was so derogative that it almost felt like she thought none of us could spell it in English. I have never seen so much attitude from a hotel staff. The other staff lady on the next window simply chose to look the other way and told me "Vanessa was her boss" . And then came the final bit, Vanessa pulled out a "closed window" plate and left the counter. There are 3 customers now in line and she abruptly left. We then waited for someone else to help us. He was much more calm and basically came out with the truth that they didn't have any of the rooms of the type I had booked and thus were unable to give me one. He offered a couple of options and we took the option to check in at a suite at Harrah's across the street. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
