Great location, but room was disappointing
Sep 19th, 2020
The location is fantastic, very central with a short walk to all the popular areas. Parking in the permit areas isn't easy but we didn't manage to find a spot after driving up and down. Worth noting that the permit costs £12 a night and you also have to give a cash deposit of £20 (and it has to be cash, not card). The room was a bit disappointing, and the bathroom was so cramped with the toilet roll holder being in the worst possible position, from which I now have bruises. Not to mention the sliding door could have done with a door handle. We also had an issue with noise, as there was several aircon units right outside our window (room 106) which didn't stop all night, and we could hear every door slam and our neighbours toilet flush. We also booked a double room but the bed was no bigger than a 3/4 so very cosy, and the room smelled of weed around 11pm, so not sure if it was coming through the air con units, as the window was closed. Really enjoyed our stay, really clean and staff were very friendly. Small issue with the room on arrival but helpful staff sorted promptly. Room a good size. Only slight issue is parking around the hotel but that's the nature of staying in Bath. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Terrible night's sleep
Sep 18th, 2020
Very small room considering it was an upgrade, also air conditioning unit was outside our room, this 'fired up' every hour so we didn't sleep at all well. Lovely building and friendly staff with a good breakfast. The room 114, needed a decent mirror near a plug socket too. Such a shame as it could have been perfect! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Wonderful place to stay

What a wonderful hotel to stay in and just a short walk into the city centre. The staff were very helpful with nothing to much trouble and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice, great way to start the day exploring Bath. We will be going again in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Friday overnight stay with friends

Hotel is in a great central location. Recently opened so it is easy to be critical so this is meant to be constructive. 1) check in good but the desk arrangement means that it’s very easy to be overhead by other guests. 2) hotel is very much a new facility so looks great but the upper floors are rather maze like so a bit more direction at check in would be good. For instance we are in a 3rd floor room, but actually you need to get our on the 2nd floor and then find a staircase to the area you are actually staying in. 3) the lighting in some of the corridors and staircases is too dark and you don’t always see the room numbers and directions 4) some items need snagging still. Extractor in our bathroom not working, no door handle on the bathroom pocket door, room door slams very very loudly ! 5) breakfast. Kept waiting for 30 mins even though we booked. No croissant left, bread and pastries undercooked, cold plates for hot meal, slightly undercooked sausages and bacon... all a bit rushed and a bit disappointing 6) dust in dining room adjacent to tables very obvious.. Good bits Nice bar Friendly staff and eager to please Nice decor Comfy is small beds Great pillows Nice sheets Air con in the rooms Good quality tea and coffee in the rooms and excellent tv Place just needs finishing in some areas and whilst CV19 is an issue, a bit more care on certain things would be helpful! Will come back but needs to settle a bit TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
