Overview

Lodge-style property with ample outdoor activities, a spa and tasty cuisine
Some say rooms could use a refresh as they feel outdated
Located in Lake Placid, New York, near Mirror Lake, High Peaks Resort exhibits a modern interpretation of the classic Adirondack lodge. The ceilings feature in-laid wood paneling rather than exposed beams, and the cream and tan color scheme creates a bright, airy atmosphere. High Peaks Resort houses four pools (two indoor, two outdoor), as well as a spa – all of which earn high marks from recent guests. Guests report a pleasant stay overall thanks to friendly staff and the vibrant and convenient locale near Lake Placid's shops and eateries. Most recent travelers also applaud the cozy accommodations, though some said they could use a facelift. Each room features simplistic decor, adorned wooden accents and a few deluxe amenities, like soft terry cloth robes, flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Plus, The Den lounge and the main on-site eatery, Dancing Bears Restaurant, both receive rave reviews from recent patrons.
