Reduced staffing means no service, poor conditions

May 28th, 2020

Bad experience at Hilton Atlanta Airport hotel. They are NOT following COVID-19 safety protocols. They have reduced staffing and are unable to run basic hotel functions. There was 1 front desk employee who was also trying to do housekeeping. Did not see any janitorial workers at all. No one was cleaning anything! Room was in disrepair. Curtain falling off the rod, stained and dirty couch, toilet making very loud noise, missing linens, missing blankets and pillows, missing towels, no soap in the bathroom, dirty sheets with what appeared to be dried & hardened gum stuck to them. Called housekeeping, no answer. Called front desk, no answer. Called a third time and someone answered, they said they would bring up the missing room items. A few hours later, no one brought up anything. Called again and was told "It will be faster if you just come down and get them." Went to the front desk, the one and only employee had to leave the front desk to go downstairs and retrieve towels and linens. She did not bring a blanket but instead a bedspread, so we just used that. The line of guests waiting at the front desk grew long with no one at the front desk to assist them. Flag was still hanging at half mast on Wednesday, 2 days after Memorial Day. Truly a mess of a stay. Hilton needs to do much better than this! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Business Trip

Mar 29th, 2020

I stayed in this hotel for a trade show. So i stayed two nights then I drove home and came back to get a different room and stayed one additional night. The pros are the hotel is in the center of Downtown. lots of attractions are close. Diamond member breakfast in the rooftop restaurant is good. Cons. this is a NOISY location. street noise is very obvious when you lay down to go to sleep. Diamond members take note. If you get a room on the 28th. floor some have raised entry step with an L.E.D light strip that can't be turned off and lights up the room like the fourth of July. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Really outdated! Worse than any Hampton Inns.

Mar 19th, 2020

I stayed at Hilton Atlanta for 2 nights in mid March during a business trip. Except the lobby and the conference rooms (lower level), I could not believe that this is at the Hilton level among all its properties. From my experience, Hilton Atlanta is worse than most of Hilton's cheaper hotels, such as Hampton Inns or Hilton Garden Inns. 1) As a Diamond member, I was not acknowledged my status upon check-in. Although I was put in the room on the top 3 floors, which are designated for executive members, It was just an ordinary guest room. 2) The room is extremely outdated, with bathroom wall paper peeling off, rusted door hinges, and a broken cabinet door for the mimi-fridge (see pic attached). The carpet frays and is old and dirty with stains. The AC is loud and did not function well - it only blew air without lowering the room temperature. 3) The elevators of the hotel are super old and sound dangerous. At the top floor (28th), you hear the motor rumbling loud when the core elevators are running. There are two elevators that run outside the building, which are totally exposed to outside without any protection from rain or wind or whatsoever. These two elevators (also the ones that bring you the 29th floor Nicolai's Roof) constantly make metal clapping/friction noise when running, which is very scary. I am not sure if these elevators have passed the safety inspection recently, if so, they have maintenance issues. 4) The breakfast provided for executive members at the Nicolai's roof is really mediocre, with coffee, juice, waffle iron, pastries/bread, 3 trays of hot items (egg/bacon/potato), and some pre-cut fruit. This is at best in the Hampton Inn's level, even not at Hilton Garden Inn's made-to-order hot breakfast standard. Furthermore, letting guests grab food items from open trays amid this Covid-19 outbreak seems to be really unwise. Until Hilton Atlanta makes some change and upgrade, I will not recommend this hotel. Stank of weed/skunk and very noisy party hotel

Mar 18th, 2020

Long check-in, ambivalent service. Hotel lobby felt like an airport lounge. Rooms were nice and modern, but VERY noisy hotel, party hotel. I could smell weed/cannabis on my floor and readying the previous reviews this is a common problem here. Very expensive on-site hotel store, which sells water, sodas, chocolate etc., but everything is at least $5 - even a small pack of chocolate covered raisins! Location is good, in the centre of Atlanta. Parking extra and you need to either queue for the Valet or park next door and pay $20 a day. Atlanta is not the safest city maybe, but at night I did not feel safe in the area around this hotel. Maybe as am from UK and not used to these kind of problems. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
