Horrible hotel to stay during times of covid

 I stayed at the Atlanta Airport Hilton over the weekend and had an extremely disappointing experience. During a time of covid, in a state where cases are significantly increasing, I would have expected Hilton to go above and beyond to instill confidence, and this property did quite the opposite. It may have been mostly following local guidelines, but I would have expected Hilton to do more. My girlfriend landed at Hartsfield where the shuttle picked her up. The driver had no mask or gloves on, despite interacting with people all day. There was no social distancing in the shuttle as it was full to capacity. I arrived an hour later via car. When I walked in the back entrance from the parking lot, there were about 50 people drinking and smoking outside, with nobody wearing a mask and nobody from the hotel enforcing rules.  During the entire stay, none of the staff wore masks and neither did the patrons, even in common areas. Finally, as a Diamond member, the Hilton website states that I still get breakfast, yet this property did not offer it. I asked and was told they were not doing that. They had a small grab and go cafe and I asked if I could get a credit, and they said no. The manager did offer to comp my parking, but it still doesn't eliminate the fact that their website is not currently defining the perks. This was an extremely disappointing stay and quite honestly, makes me want to try a different chain to see if they are any better because I don't think they could be any worse. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don't waste your money

Booked a double queen, was told only two double beds were available at check-in. I insisted on receiving what I reserved and paid for and all of a sudden, it magically came available. Get to my room, hello Double beds. Went back to check-in, the front desk debated with me whether or not I was certain of my observation. Another staff went to the room with me to verify it was in fact double beds. I was moved to another room, problem solved. Another issue was the awful smell of smoke in the hallways. It is a non-smoking hotel however, nearly every hall reeked of the smell. I mentioned it to staff when we walked to the original room I had been placed in and he said he would 'check into it.' The room was clean but the beds were not comfy at all. I'm still sore and hurting from sleeping in that bed for only one night. The room was very quiet considering the proximity to the airport and that's one thing I'd say positive about the place. However, I think it necessary to mention, we stayed on the 9th floor, 2nd room we were moved to, and when getting off the elevator, there was a sign that said, "Sshhh, this floor is good for day sleepers." I didnt see that on the 5th floor. It leads me to believe that this floor may had been designated for nearby airport staff that need a good rest before returning to duty. Doesn't make me feel confident that the rest of the floors get the same privileges. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

mixed feelings.

First things first, I loved the property. Everything looked good both the exterior and interior. Staff was nice. I originally was on the 11th floor I believe, when I first walked in I used the restroom. I did notice there was hair on the floor. Like eyelashes, but I ignored it. Soon as I walked in the room to put my bag down there was a footprint mark on the bed along with a few other lil wet stains. I was then moved to the 17th floor, which might I add I loved the room, but most of all the view. Checked the room, the sheets where dirty. Pillow cases too. So again, I was moved to another room because house keeping wasn’t available. I was moved to a junior suite. Room was great condition. I actually loved the room honestly. I was very disappointed especially with all the COVID19 problems going on. Obviously housekeeping doesn’t care because there is absolutely no reason why a footprint should be on a sheet in a “clean” room. Though I was accommodated with a junior suite, and promised more Hilton honors points (which I’m not sure I received or not), it shouldn’t have took me getting moved all those times to find a clean room. Again, loved the property, but the whole stay was just uncomfortable and nasty. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I land at 2 pm, wait on a shuttle for 30 minutes, call and am told that I should Uber . They saved $80 a day laying off their van driver and I have to Uber to an airport hotel. Stupid management decision and horrible customer service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hire pest control ASAP

I’m moving out of my room at 12:53 am. I literally just found a huge flying roach in my room 1720. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but I refused another room. I wish I could’ve took a video, but it was a video versus quickly grabbing my things and throwing them into the hallway. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
