Excellent facilities in a great part of town

This was my first stay at this Hilton but I will certainly come back. It is very well situated on Diagonal and close to Barcelo Sants station. The hotel has a modern, luxurious feel and is very well run. My room on the top floor was outstanding. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly too. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The staff is excellent

The hotel itself is clean and is perfectly located for nearby attractions. The difference maker for us was the staff. From check in to check out, the staff made a huge difference in making us feel welcomed. It was our first time in Barcelona and Rocia, who’s on the executive level, really took her time in helping us decide what to do. She displayed professionalism and patience in helping us and we felt she really cared about making sure we had a great stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Family trip to Barcelona

Great location, access to metro, walking distance to Barca stadium and plaza espana. Great breakfast, fantastic staff, front desk could not be more helpful. Attentive and thorough housekeeping. Cleanest and well maintained rooms, I suggest a suite, it comes with a nice living room and a fantastic Nespresso machine :) The one opportunity for the Hilton is better room service options and a restaurant on site. I highly recommend this hotel. Exec lounge service is also very good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Average hotel with the worst executive lounge ever

We’ve faced many issues in this hotel. First of all, at check-in I’ve asked, if due to holding Diamond status we could be upgraded. I was ensured that all better rooms are sold out. Then it turned out that the safe in our room does not work. First technician came quickly, but he didn’t fix it. He asked another one that came 15 min later and left promptly saying he will be beck in 5 min. He didn’t come back in 30 min, so we’ve already lost an hour waiting to fix our room. Then I went to reception, showing that Hilton webpage indicates that upgraded rooms are available. It turned out that there 3-or 4 available and we could be upgraded. The biggest disappointment is however executive lounge. The hotel should seriously consider whether not to shot it down, if they continue to provide service like this. The evening snack lasts for 2 hours, between 6 and 8 pm, and offers the worst snack ever in Hilton lounges – 4 types of sandwiches, all in white bread and 3 types of deep fried snacks – no salads, no vegetables, nothing healthy or tasty – all really crap, which is especially surprising that it is Spain – country with great food. On top out of 3 evenings the snacks were finished 0,5h before, so at 7.30pm and were not replaced. We literally asked lounge reception for more food and we were told that kitchen does not have sufficient ingredients to prepare more food. Can you believe? After 8pm, once evening snack is finished there is literally nothing to eat – no chips, no nuts, no cookies etc. Seems not to be Hilton lounge standard. On top 40 min before lounge closing they start cleaning service, including vacuum. Nobody cares that guests are still there – you don’t feel very welcome. It is definitely not the hotel I’d like to visit again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The bones of the hotel are acceptable; The service is lacking in all forms and shapes. All staff seems very uninterested, robotic and not caring about guests nor their job. Service is reactive and passive - not proactive and active. We sent a complaint halfway expressing our experiences so far and nothing changed to date. Our room has not been serviced to basic housekeeping standards for one single day - glasses and cups are not taken away, not cleaned, no water and/or coffee is replenished; no turndown has been offered (even though the room besides us has) room wasn't serviced on four days prior to 15:00; that timing alone isn't acceptable.... Food quality in the lounge is very poor as is general upkeep of the executive lounge area: nobody really gets super excited about lukewarm tortillas, soft semi-cold croquettes or bacalao balls or super tiny sandwiches with leftover jamon from the breakfast buffet. Lounge staff on duty doesn't do anything more than asking for your room number upon entering - no question of how your stay is, if you need any help, or follow up on complaints. Tables stay dirty too long, basically. Nobody really seems to care either; just that promptly at 20:00 everything is taken out without any warning, fridges are closed and staff leaves… Wow… Not once has the doorman greeted us upon entering or exiting the property, not once was the door opened (or held) either; upon breakfast check-in there isn't an inquiry of how one has slept - or how the day was, there isn't anyone walking around to replenish coffee, tea, juice, or whatever; plates and tables are cleaned systematically. Really on our sixth night here, we shouldn't need to tell the attendant in what room we are - or perhaps we should? but this is not the level we expect of a Hilton as a tip-tier elite member. The right elevator has issues scanning the cardkey, and upon several occasions one has to return - of course the reception always pretends it is either "the guest fault" or the "key fault" - even though on one night upon arriving all four parties trying to enter the elevator needed to report to the front desk... There seems to be an overall mismatch in what the hotel can be or should be giving the name and what the owner/operator wants to do. At present it is an uninspired accommodation that one won't return to anytime soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
