Room For Improvement

Being a diamond HH member, i'm obviously loyal to the brand, and overall, we enjoyed our stay, however, as the title of my review suggests, I was not totally happy, and suggest that there is room for improvement. The exec room that we had (2404) was clean and comfortable, and because of the premium bedding, the sleep quality was really good, (as it generally is at most Hilton properties) I have no issue paying $200-$300 per night for a good room, however, the one thing I do have an issue with, and some may say this is petty, is being expected to pay $5 for a coffee at breakfast ? Really ? Isn't the value of a diamond member worth much more than a $5 coffee ? Note that not every Hilton property expect $5 for a coffee at breakfast. I'd suggest that Hilton Brisbane might look at how Hilton Denarau (Fiji) take care of their gold and diamond guests at breakfast. Before being seated, the waitress asks for your room number, and looks you up on the computer. Seeing that you are a tiered member, she/he then seats you at a table, and places a small sign on the table that denotes a gold/diamond member is sitting there. This obviously tells the staff to take good care of that guest. You do NOT pay $5 for a coffee at that property, and can have as many lattes or cappacino's as you like. !! I'd really suggest that Hilton Brisbane would do well to implement the same kind of thing. Place a marker on the table of a tiered member when seating them, which would then let staff know not to embarrass the member by asking for $5 a coffee. I love staying at Hilton properties, but honestly, the $5 for a coffee situation is making me think of seeing what else is out there. A couple of other things worth mentioning. As there was 2 of us staying, I left polite little notes for Housekeeping twice, asking for 2 lots of toiletries to be left each day. This was not done. I also noticed something in the room that management should look at whenever they do a major refurb at some point. There is a fire smoke detector near the bed, but the sole sprinkler is in the bathroom. This makes no sense at all. The final issue was the wi-fi. Wi-fi for diamond members is supposed to be a premium connection, but wasn't. The connection that I had on level 24 was choppy and weak, and kept dropping out. As I said, I have been loyal to the Hilton brand for quite some time now, and love staying at the Hilton properties, but Hilton Brisbane would do well to take into consideration, some of the points I have mentioned. Nice Hotel In The Center of Shopping Area

Very nice location, right in the center of everything, so easy to go anywhere. Big room and bath room. Grocery store, coffee places, restaurants, fashion store and almost everything were so close. I left something when i checked out and the hotel staff were so responsive in taking care of my left goods TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Run down

Stayed here 1 night last week. For the price its very average. Inside appears very old and run down and the rooms are beyond basic. Its a very boring hotel. The pool area is nice and apparently there's a tennis court but it was all blocked off saying closed until last week. Clearly running behind on renovations or whatever they are doing. Valet parking is only option and its $60! Wouldn't stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stopover from a late flight to collect car to drive to Noosa the next day. Typical business Hilton. Very surprised that there are no usb ports in the room. Mentioned to manager. Staff helpful with luggage. Room clean and bed comfortable TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A little dated but still a great Hilton experience

This was my first time at the Hilton is Brisbane and I was immediately made to feel at home. I stayed in a King Deluxe room on level 10. The room was very spacious, and whilst a little dated the bathroom has been refurbished. The king bed had nice linen and was comfortable, but wasn’t the most comfortable bed I’ve had at a 5 star hotel. Maybe some art work or colour in the rooms would make them feel a little more modern. The staff were super friendly and the room wonderfully clean. Thanks Hilton! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
