Hilton Clearwater Beach Valet parking was amazing, very friendly and outgoing staff made us feel very welcome. Very helpful with our luggage’s and got everything to the room very fast. Check in staff was also amazing beautiful lobby area, lobby is up one floor. Exterior of hotel is dated like the 80’s. The rooms, oh the rooms, equally as dated as the exterior of the hotel, small shell of a room, the double beds (not queen) are small. The beds felt old and worn down with a decent mattress topper added. I hate the wooden bed frames that stick out further than the mattress and in this small room were the cause of many bumps, bruises and broken skin. The A/C in the room never cooled the room below 75 degrees, despite being checked three times by engineering, that’s all she will put out, kept blinds closed as well, this was a paid upgraded room with gulf view. They did bring us 2 box fans to help. The room did have an upgraded shower and nice lighted vanity mirror and a large tv, but was the standard box size that was classic to many original older Hilton & Marriott hotels. Beach view and balcony was wonderful. No alcohol allowed on the beach. But within the confines of their Tiki bar on the beach you can purchase drinks and food and they have several seating tables and chairs for 4, properly distances apart. We enjoyed the beach as well, very nice beach, however the beach chair, umbrella rentals were a little pricey, but glad they offered them. Unfortunately only about half the guests wore there face masks responsibly and only half respected the elevator capacity limits for the current pandemic. The rooms are definitely not worth the price paid, especially with abysmal room temperatures and inadequate cooling. This could be a great place, but the rooms , beds and air conditioning would need some serious upgrades. All of the staff we interacted with were amazing, friendly and helpful! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lots of rules make it uncomfortable & wait till you get the bill after fees added at checkin

I'm going to point out all the items that I made our stay more difficult and following that i will point out what we loved about this Hilton Resort on the beach in Clearwater. BUT FIRST, I want to tell everyone that I had 3 teens with me and needed some extra accomodations...... I called to ask for early check-in at 10 am and they were gracious and confirmed it for me. Love you for that! I check-in at 10 am and they granted me a upgrade view without even asking. !!! WOW!!! Love you for that! and last, I requested a late check out and again for the 3rd time, accomodated me. Just want to point that out before i go negative LOL because that made our planning go much smoother and it is much appreciated......now for things that could have gone better: 1st. Note: this is a resort on the beach which means you have a 25.00 per day resort amenities fee that must be payed at check in, and, if you drove in to town, a $25.00 per day parking fee where you must valet your vehicle. That is $50.00 extra per day per night so you had better budget for this. 2nd. Again, this is a resort. No coolers are allowed in their pool area nor out on the beach directly in front of their property. When I got out onto the beach I saw several families with coolers literally on the beach. these were mostly people that parked public for the day. so gen pop gets to bring coolers, paying guests cannot. Complete garbage. Note: I think the idea is wrapped around forbidden alchohol. You could tell the people drinking on the beach because they all had their booze nicely hidden in large yeti-type cooler mugs. i'll be smarter next time. 3rd. i asked for 4 towels going into the pool. the lady proceeded to then ask me how many guests and at the time it was just me and my son. She handed me 2 towels. I asked, can I not have 4 towels? her co worker gave her a troubling stare as if to mentally yell, she asked for 4 towels not even a minute ago!!! So, over the few days we were there, we learned the towels sitch is run by nazis. What did i understand about this hotel during this pandemic time? That there is no daily maid service and we were fine with that. all hotels are abiding by the same rule so Hilton is no different. Let me get to what I loved about our stay: 1st. Anytime I called room service for anything any reason, they came almost instantly, without question and with a smile. i had 3 teens with me so we needed to call them a few times. housekeeping was great! 2nd. the hotel was spotless and there was crews constantly cleaning all over. guests and hotel workers were respectful of space and about 90% of guests wore masks in the hotel. No masks were worn on the beach nor in the pool area as can be expected. 3rd. Location is outstanding!!!! and so was the amazing sun set. i'll tell you this hotel offers many places, including the beach to gaze upon its glory. 4th. the beaches were constantly being cleaned by tractors to clean up seaweed. It was nice because you could go for a time on the beach and then turn back and head into the pool area for a dip! (The temp of both pool and ocean right now is warm). 5th. I want to give a great shout out to all the handsome men and boys in valet and up front when you are greeted. The guys were always courteous, jovial, smiling behind their masks (you can tell) and fast on their feet. always making conversation and making sure your trip is a good one. I tried to tip them best I could. they are truly working hard to feed their families. My understanding is that these guys are only recently back to work given covid. 5th Our room was super clean and welcoming when we arrived. the only thing our room didnt have was a microwave (again this is a resort; god forbid you have left overs you need to reheat). 6th. All the staff at the pool are super nice and friendly. you can swim in the adult pool and they will bring the drink right up to the edge for you. So these guys get a fist bump for making my stay at the pool super relaxing. Thank you! End of day, the location of the is hotel, amenities, and MOST OF ALL price competitiveness compared to the wyhdham and other hotels also on the beach made it the easiest choice at checkout. Rules and Hidden Fees

This is a nice enough hotel, right on the water, nice pool and cabana. But here’s the thing. You’re going to pay for your room, your “resort fee” and mandatory valet parking and then you're going to pay for a million other little things. You need to tip the valet every time the move your car around. And the rules. I mean there is a rule for everything. No outside food or drinks at the pool. No personal chairs on “their” beach. We figured we’d rent an umbrella from them on the beach and use our chairs, nope, you must use their chairs. Also their portion of the beach is well back from the water so if you have kids swimming you better be able to sprint like David Hasselhoff. You can schlep all your personal stuff from the hotel, across their section of the beach to the public section which is what we did but it’s a lot of work. There you can have your cheap food and BYOB. I bought an umbrella from across the street. At $24 a day for an umbrella and $20 a chair the thing paid for itself. Frankly, with this pandemic, to me, they are lucky anyone is here. I wished we hadn’t come at a few points. I’d be less annoyed by the rules if I wasn’t also stressed about covid. You’d think they would relax A LITTLE and just be glad people are here. I understand they want to sell their food or drinks at the tiki bar but I think people would buy their stuff on top of their own stuff. None of this stopped me from ordering quite a few pina coladas at the pool. Additionally, we have friends and family in the area. There was no where inside the hotel where we could sit and hang out and they wouldn’t let hotel guests bring outside guests into the pool. No maid service, which is fine, it was too risky to have someone come in the room but every day you have to either call for towels or track down the maid cart because the room is small and it’s just not practical to hang bath towels to dry in there. There was a very small fridge in the room, a microwave would have been nice. The employees were as nice as they could be under the circumstances. They have to enforce the rules of their corporate overlords and try not to catch covid. So I appreciated their efforts. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fairly Disappointed

My family was scheduled to stay at this resort 6/28-7/1. Upon arriving we were shocked at the lack of social distancing or face masks being worn, especially after leaving Universal Studios where they were very strict with their Covid-19 policies. Signs posted, but nothing being enforced. We went to leave the resort to get dinner, valets could not locate our rental car that they had parked. It took them 20-30 minutes to get us our vehicle. We were unsatisfied with the cleanliness of our room upon check in, but a lot of that has to do with the fact that the rooms need updated. We ended our vacation early and leaving on 6/29 due to the lack of rules being enforced and overall dissatisfaction with the resort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location, Location, Location

If you want to be able to park your car and forget about it this is the place. Close to shopping, restaurants and Pier 60. And one of the few places right on the beach. That’s why they can charge a premium for rooms. Also expect a resort fee and to pay for valet parking (no choice). Entrance and lobby have been updated. Rooms are a little dated and somewhat small. Really wish they would invest in some new beds. But staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. Two pools and plenty of lounge chairs. In the end it depends on how close you want to be to everything and if you’re willing to pay for it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
