Best Hotel in Eugene

We always stay at The Graduate every time we visit our kiddo at UO. The collegiate decor is super fun, the rooms are a nice size, the bed is comfy, the staff is accomodating, the price is very reasonable, and the location is perfect. Our favorite restaurant, Marche, is a quick block and half away, as well as several other great restaurants. This place is a gem! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Paid parking in Eugene? Are you kidding?
Nov 19th, 2020
The description reads "self park" but if you dig into the small print (which I unfortunately did not do) they charge you a $19 parking fee! Are you kidding me? I might be able to justify paying for parking during an event weekend, but on a Wednesday night when the students aren't even in town is a joke. And although the description states "in room coffee" there isn't a cup of joe to be found anywhere. The decor is like a Nike advertisement, so unless you are a huge Nike or Duck fan it might be a bit overwhelming. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is an awesome hotel, especially if you're a Duck fan. We had a blast and the kids loved it. It was exactly as shown on their website. It was clean, the bath products smelled amazing, and the grounds with the beautiful Fall trees were gorgeous. We'll definitely be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A Short But Excellent Stay
Nov 1st, 2020
We checked into the Graduate Eugene after 13 hours of travel on the I-5, which is enough to prime anyone for irritability and disappointment. This place defused us completely. PRICE: Our room (1 queen) cost about 50% more than I've paid for the same thing at a Comfort Inn in other towns, but the experience made that seem more than fair. Parking was an extra $19 at check-in...not my favorite, but not the end of the world. Not sure whether prices are lower than usual at the moment due to the pandemic, but if what we paid is normal for the chain, we'll be back. COVID PRECAUTIONS: We've been taking the pandemic seriously, and we were comfortable here. The lobby and our room looked very clean. Masks did not appear to be required, just encouraged via signs, but we got in a little on the late side and there were only a few other check-ins in the lobby, all wearing masks. The associate who checked us in was masked and sanitized his hands before getting started. There were other signs encouraging social distancing in the lobby and elevators. Good stuff. ROOM: Really outstanding. Comfy bed - got a great night's sleep. And we've got no connection to Oregon, Eugene, or the University of Oregon, but we do appreciate commitment to a theme, and so thought the decor was charming as hell. No joke, we looked at every piece of furniture and decoration in the room. Neat lamps, nice art, a TV stand and couch that didn't feel like they came from every other hotel I've ever seen. The duck wallpaper in the bathroom? Killer. Turns out there's one of these in my college town, and I'm inclined to check it out now. The lobby was cool too, but we didn't sleep there. Maybe next time. SERVICE: As I said, the associate I dealt with during check-in was respectful of the moment's health concerns, and he was very clear about how to use the keys, elevators, and wi-fi (yes, it is free). We were only here for a night and didn't make any requests at all, but it sure felt like the staff would have come through for us if we did. At 10am the morning of our arrival, I got a text from the business saying we could message any time about anything we needed. OTHER STUFF: I liked the area. We got a great carryout dinner from Izakaya Meiji before we went to the hotel, and the view of fall colors from the 9th floor was lovely in the morning. Maybe our hypothetical future kid will go to U of O and give us a bunch of excuses to come back. I'm gonna shop for duck wallpaper for the home bathroom just in case that doesn't pan out.
