A comfortable getaway with attentive service

In these times of Covid where travels are limited due to restrictions in Switzerland, I like to escape to the Hilton Evian, which provides a nice holiday feeling. The property is fairly recent with spacious rooms, nice views over the lake and a large spa with indoor and outdoor pools and a sauna. Staff are well trained, attentive and welcoming. In overall it is a pleasant experience and well achieves what I am looking for: to relax and disconnect, only one hour away from Geneva. The city of Evian is also quite nice, with good food at reasonable prices. The drive from Evian to Montreux is spectacular, for me the best part of the lake. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A Very Warm Welcome

From the moment I walked out of the train station at Evian les Bains, there was the Hotel Hilton navette to take me to the hotel. I was recovering from a major back operation and still had difficulty walking. The staff at Hilton took special care of me. They upgraded my room with a view out to the lake. The people at the restaurant were so warm and welcoming, offering expertly prepared cappuccinos . The linens on the bed made for deep silent sleep every night. The outdoor heated pool was just what the doctor ordered. The spa area Taaj was staffed with expert masseuses and a beautifully decorated space. I was thrilled with my choice to come here to recuperate. The personnel, the building, the location, the rooms, the amenities, the service were more than I expected. Bravo Hilton. 14.08 we made a call to reservations for c-in 14.08 for 3 nights. We said on the phone 2 adults, one 2yo and i 1 month old. The lady told us only one room was available to make reservation asap. the line got cut up, we were on the road, so we finished the reservation through their app. After all day on the road ( were coming from Ireland...) we arrived at 18h and the Front Office lady said we were 4 and the room was up to 3 for "safty reasons". We explained her that the baby can sleep with us, that we made he reservation told on the phone on the only room available as we were told. She checked with F.O manage and said that we had to go. No more rooms availables and no way to stay on the reservation made. It as middle august, all booked, and with 2 infants we were left on the street!! we had to drive more hours to swtizerland to be able to sleep, with all the distress that this caused to us and more to the infants. Up to today I am waiting for the reimbursment they told us they made at the moment, yesterday I had to call and they promise a confirmation email that i still havent recived. HILTON EXPERIENCE? I have worked as a manager in FOur Seasons, that would have been unaceptable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

After a bad start in room with a view on an ugly building we ended up for a higher price with a view on the lake. Loved the bed, never slept better! Good breakfast and very friendly staff! Right in front of the lake, hence very romantic place. Nevertheless Evian is quite a boring town, but good to relax. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Service seems destroyed by COVID-19

Hi, just today we checken in, booked an Executive to have some more amenities. But it was a mistake.... 1. Check in was good, the Lady explaned everything and gave us our Room in the 5th Floor. Room 5210 is very nice, you overlook the Lake from the bed. 2. Now the nightmare starts, the Executive Lounge is moved for the time being, today, to the bar, and here the service is unbeliveable poor. Within 2 hrs I was just able to get 1 glas wine, always running behind the waiters. 5min before happy hour closed I could get a second one. For everything you had to ask and excuse, e.g. Some snacks etc, nothing which is normal in an Executive Lounge was offered. I‘m really very disapointed as I know the Hotel from several previous Stars. Sorry...but please work quickly on improvements TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
