Good location, nice rooms, bad amenities

Jun 16th, 2019

The location is great for the Aquarium, Centennial Park, the Conference center. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The Fitness center is small and neglected. The roof top pool is nice, but they need more loungers. The breakfast is underwhelmming. Service was sometimes excellent and other times blah. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Didn't stay here but...

Jun 14th, 2019

I was supposed to stay in this hotel but was moved to another one that was just as nice except for one difference...the front desk staff. The staff here namely...(and I KNOW I am getting this incorrect) Caplon, Catlon...is awesome. She is friendly, always smiling and has just a fantastic attitude. WE were laughing and joking every time I came in the hotel. She even gave me some sour patch kids when I first met her and told her that I was bummed that I had been moved. Apparently this chain of hotels encourages smiles as soon as a customer walks into the hotel unlike some others. I am TRULY sorry that I butchered her name. She wasn't there on Thursday (our last day of the conference so I couldn't tell her this personally & check her name again) and I was bummed. Every front desk person should take lessons from her. (I can answer the room questions because one of my friends stayed here and she was in a handicap room.) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location, but noisy A/C and very construction across the street.

Jun 6th, 2019

Excellent location two blocks from the Atlanta Convention center. Nice well-trained staff and great amenities overall. However, I was awaken multiple times during the night by a giant noisy A/C unit next to my bed that sounded like a diesel engine, then by a loud and resonating banging noise from a massive construction site of Atlanta Aquarium next door. Had to move to a Hilton Atlanta Downtown for the rest of my trip after two sleepless nights. Moreover, the proper Hilton room was wisper quiet and $30 cheaper per night. If you have to stay in Garden Inn, consider a few extra drinks to sleep through the night. Better yet, demand that hotel covers the cost of extra drinks. :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location, mediocre service

Jun 4th, 2019

We had 2 rooms for our family over Memorial Day weekend. The staff at check-in were warm and welcoming and the rooms were exactly what we expected. Housekeeping is not the best. You could write your name in the dust on the lamp base on the bedside table. Our rooms were not made up the second day and we had to ask for that at the front desk, needing more towels because we were 4 to a room. The gym was always lacking the complimentary cold water and towels that were advertised. Staff did not supervise the pool area in any way so people were smoking and drinking poolside into the evening. The location is excellent and the employees are lovely, just not attentive to detail. Business Trip Made Comfortable

Jun 4th, 2019

The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable about the area and attractions. I felt safe, comfortable and had easy access to lots of restaurants, attractions and airport transportation. The food for our business event was excellent with fresh produce and wonderful regional options. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
