No Airport Shuttle

I arrived at BWI, called the hotel and was told that they no longer offer a shuttle from the airport and to take a taxi, which I did. When I arrived at the hotel I gave the check-in lady my taxi receipt and ask her to reimburse me, she told me that they had discontinued their shuttle service because of COVID and that she could not reimburse me. I told her that on her hotel's web site it clearly states that there is a free 24 hour shuttle and she said there is a banner there that says the shuttle is no longer available, so I asked her why their web site still says free shuttle and she told me to "Read the fine print". She said that all airport hotels were doing the same thing. I told her that in the last two weeks I has stayed at three Hilton airport properties and that this was simply not true. Too Must Cost Cutting

Stay Report - 9/25 to 9/26 Location: The hotel is on Nursery Road near most of the other BWI Airport hotels though a little farther north than most of the other BWI Airport hotels.  It's at the same intersection with the Hyatt Place and a block from both a Cracker Barrell and a Ruby Tuesday.  Within a mile are a number of other places to eat including Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Chik-Fil-A, Chilis and a local sports bar. Hotel: The hotel is a standard airport HGI which is relatively new and in good shape.  The lobby is very pleasant and there's a nice pantry there now which is making up for the fact that the restaurant is closed.  Do note that currently most services are suspended.  While the business center is open there is no airport shuttle.  That was a rude awakening when I arrived. Check In: The agent was nice enough and said that she'd give me points as there was no breakfast but of course the stay posted without the Diamond bonus points. Room: One of the nicer redesigned HGI rooms awaited me.  I had a large king bed with outlets next to it, a good work space and large TV and an upgraded shower.  As part of the cost cutting you no longer get body lotion it seems.  Noise was not an issue and the Wifi worked well. Breakfast: Currently just grab and go.  To call the items pathetic is an insult to other things that are pathetic. Overall avoid this property until things get back to normal.  Other airport properties have kept their shuttle.  I ended up spending $30 for Ubers.   TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bugs, brown water and ignored.. Stay elsewhere.

Sad to say, this was the worst experience I have had at a hotel in a long time. I stayed here because of a medical procedure the following morning. I arrived and because of Covid, the front door was locked. I rang the bell numerous times and called the front desk with no answer. After about 10 minutes, a guest was leaving and let me in. I was unable to find a employee, and even went behind the desk and yelled down the hallway with no response. After 5 minutes or so, two employees finally showed up. I was assigned my room. I had forgotten something so went down to the front desk, passing one employee who didn’t have a mask on. Look, I am not a fan of wearing a mask either, but it’s posted all over that masks need to be worn, so the employees have to as well. I can already see this is going to be a long review, so I’ll just post the bullets of the room.. 1- toilet half flushed majority of the time, and then constantly ran starting around 10pm. 2- toilet paper holder falling off the wall. 3- brown water coming out of the shower that cleared up eventually 4- Anytime the wind blew, the window was banging. I don’t know if faulty window or branches, but it was windy all night. Lastly, when I got up in the AM, I found ants crawling on the bed. I brought this up when I was checking out and got a cursory, I’ll let maintenance know.. I would have expected some better customer service at that time. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very good stay, in spite of lack of resources and plan during COVID-19 outbreak

I stayed at this property in a 1 bedroom suite for one night on my outbound flight from BWI PRO’s • Large room with plenty of space • Large, well-lit tile bathroom area and countertop with plenty of space for toiletries • Decent bed excellent choice of foam or feather pillows • 4 outlets and 4 USB’s bed side to power electronics with clock • Has workout room, indoor pool and whirlpool (closed due to COVID-19) • Large work desk but horrible chair with 2 unused outlets and 2 USB ports • Suites have mini-bar area with solid surface counters, microwave/fridge combo • Extra closet space • Clean • Well stocked pantry in lobby for missed items and snacks CONS • No night light in bath area. Really Hilton? They’re a $1.00 at Walmart • Indifferent front desk attendant. Wasn’t going to process my Diamond upgrade • Some light-moderate traffic sounds in room I enjoyed this property and will stay here again in the future. IMHO the 1 bedroom suite is a waste of space unless you just need the extra room. The space is not utilized well with a huge bathroom with a cast iron tub/shower combo and an additional corner shower. Overall I would give this property a 94/100 and a 85/100 for value as it’s getting a little pricey. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice property; good common areas

We had a one bedroom king suite for 2 adults and 2 kids - it was a great space with 3 sinks in the bathroom and spacious main bedroom. We were there for our girls' dance relationship so the prep space was much needed. In the evenings, there was a nice common space for a pizza party with a few other families. Overall the property is well maintained and the staff was friendly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
