Worst Representation of Hilton that I've Experienced

With the state of TX opening up from the Covid-19 situation, I decided to take my wife and grandson to Corpus Christi for the weekend. I first thought of Hilton as I'm a Hilton Honors member and I wanted to be somewhere close to the beach without paying prices associated with being on the beach. I didn't think I should check out Trip Advisor as I've never had any issues with any Hilton properties that I've used across the U.S. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. Upon my arrival, the desk clerk was very nice and professional as I've encountered at all Hilton properties. We were assigned room 125 and went to the room to find that it hadn't been vacuumed with a juice box straw and cookie crumbs between the beds. So we went back to the front desk and were reassigned to room 129. Upon arrival in that room, the stench of sewage hit us in the face like a stink bomb. So we go back to the front desk and are assigned to room 251. We arrive there and that room stinks like cigarette smoke, but the room is at least clean. Not wanting to move any longer, we left to go have dinner and check out the beach. We stopped by the front desk and told the front desk about the smoke smell, the fact that we found a plastic bag wrapped around the smoke detector (fire hazard), the lack of blankets on the beds, the lack of a full roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, the need for an additional bar of soap for the shower as there was only one for the sink. We were told that the lack of toilet paper and soap were Covid-19 restrictions and they handed us those at the front desk to take with us. That didn't explain why the room smelled like smoke or why there were not blankets on the beds. We also asked that when the blankets were delivered and smoke detector fixed that they spray some deodorizer for the smell of smoke. Upon return after dinner, a bag of 2 blankets were on one of the beds, not placed on each bed as they should have been, the plastic bag was removed from the smoke alarm, but nothing was done to help with the smell. I went down to the front desk and complained and they handed me a partial bottle of deodorizer to use myself. I decided to elevate all of these issues to the Hilton Executives email addresses, which you can find on line, and asked for a 50% refund of my hotel charges. I was contacted by an executive staff member, via email, and they opened a case number and said they would look into it. Also they said the hotel manager would contact me within 48 hours. It's been longer than 48 hours and the hotel manager never contacted me, but I did receive a 50% discount as I requested. The bottom line here is that I will not stay at this property ever again and I would discourage everyone to stay away until this hotel can be turned around and run better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

As soon as I checked in, things went wrong. Check in was ehh. I’ll give credit to I think Johnny. There was another guest yelling at him about his keys expiring at 12 and it was 12:03 so I know he was distracted and I was an early check in but I didn’t get my water or snacks and I didn’t know what time breakfast was and I also didn’t get my breakfast coupons when I had the package with breakfast included. So after being in the room, I thought my husband was walking back in but it was actually a housekeeper who walked into my room after being checked in for a good 30 minutes. Again I know this isn’t her fault because i know me checking in early should have been communicated by the front desk. She hadn’t inspected the room yet so it shouldn’t have been available to me yet In the first place but yeah. We left to the aquarium for the day and didn’t return until that night. First thing I did was ask the front desk agent for my breakfast coupons that I didn’t get at check out. I explained that I had the breakfast package and it was me, my husband and my daughter in the room. He gave me two breakfast coupons and tried to send me away. I did want to make clear that I had three guest and it was a two night stay but he insisted that I only needed two coupons with only my name and date written on them. Both dated for the next day. After that I went upstairs and we were watching tv and relaxing. We all see a huge roach running across the ground and I had to grab my shoe to chase and kill this huge roach. When I called down to the desk the man seem hardly bothered by the news and offered me complimentary breakfast but I already had included breakfast and when I told him that he then offered me points and that was it. I told him I wanted a new one but he told me that he didn’t have any two queen beds but a king with no pull out sofa. That didn’t work and I hung up to think about making other arrangements. I had my 8 year old and my 3 month old already asleep and I couldn’t just grab everything and leave. My husband went downstairs to talk with him and then he magically had a two queen room for us. The new room was okay but it was a huge inconvenience for us to move Both kids and all our luggage late at night. I was 100% unsatisfied with my room and service at this point. The next morning at breakfast the waitress assumed I only had one free breakfast because I only had one breakfast coupon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel we will return again

Wonderful stay. Very clean and tidy. Employees were friendly. Beds were super comfortable. Very clean bathroom. Good AC/heater. Off the highway so very quiet. Overall we had a great time and nice stay Hard to access the internet TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Emergent and Last minute booking

The Hilton offers a clean and quiet atmosphere. The continental breakfast has a vast variety of items to choose from. It is located near major highways and 10 minutes from the hospital. Also, there are several nice restaurants an shopping near by. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Superb 7+ Year Track Record!

Ok...I'm the Mayor of this property. Have been staying here during my Corpus visits since Oct 2012. ALWAYS completely satisfied and over 7+ years there's been plenty of opportunity to disappoint, but not once. The current management Team led by Dusty is superb. She monitors my arrival and always ensures my room is ready just the way I like. The Chef (Jacob) does a great job of tailoring my meal requests to my dietary needs. Seriously, just ask. The Lounge and Bar manager, Sam has provided magnificent service for going on 2 years now as well as Sarah at the front desk. Nick, also behind the bar has been reliable and always first rate with his service not just with my Red Wine requirements but also a Cardio sensitive diet. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when visiting and want to send a special shout out to Sam who will be GREATLY missed when she departs soon for increased resoonsibilities at the Hilton Head, SC Hilton Garden Inn! She literally made a special trip tonight to ensure there were fresh avocados for my salad! Sam, you will be missed and the HH-HGI is fortunate to have you! Happy Trails and thanks to all!
