Jackhammers all day long!!! Horrible Experience!!!

Jan 11th, 2020

This hotel is under major construction. They used jackhammers all day on a Saturday. The rooms were absolutely uninhabitable all day. The walls were shaking and the noise was so loud you could not hear your TV with it on full volume. When I asked if I could check out early to stay somewhere else where I could rest, I was told I would still be charged for the full amount of my reservation despite the noise....I am shocked by the fact that they accepted my reservation with absolutely no notification of the horrid condition of the hotel. The amenities mentioned on their website are not available! The beatuiful fitness center on the website does not exist. The nice breakfast area on the website, does not exist. When I asked the front desk about breakfast, I was directed to the McDonald's next door. When I asked the front desk why they still advertised facilities and services they don't offer, I was lead to believe it was my fault for not knowing their hotel was under construction. I asked her where on the website it said the services were not available and of course she could not. This is false advertising and outrite fraud. I was stuck staying at the hotel, but don't make my mistake. Stay away!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Reasonable price until valet surprise

Dec 16th, 2019

Good, clean room. Bathroom, sliding door didn’t close all the way. Front desk staff was friendly. But it was never explained to us that valet was our only parking option. So, when my daughter and I were approached by a man in the dark parking lot as we were getting our bags from our car, it was alarming to find out this was his purpose. I wasn’t sure if he was truly the valet or someone stealing my car. There were four open parking spots and the hotel did not appear to be busy. Mandatory valet is not cool when you find out about it like this! Valet parking cost $20. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This Place Sucks!

Dec 15th, 2019

Never have I seen a hotel go from great to shi& in a matter of months. Stayed here a half dozen times when it was the Hilton Garden Inn. It’s now evidently under new ownership and somehow tied to Peyton Manning. I booked a room for 2 nights (12/13-14) for around $165 per night. I booked direct with hotel and was never told it was under construction. Never told the lobby and bar were walked up. Never told the elevators didn’t work. Never told it would take 25 minutes to check in with one person in front of us. There was leftover food in the mini fridge and last night a drunk naked dude was pounding on doors at 4am. To really drive the experience home I’m attaching a picture of the American flag they have flying. I will say that the valet parker’s are great. Close this please until you get it remodeled. It was such a buzz kill for our trip that I want to stop payment on my credit card. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just fair

Dec 9th, 2019

We were there for the UT Vandy football game weekend, so the price was a lot higher than normal which is common in major university cities/towns. The customer service is very good from the desk to valet to housekeeping. For campus access and food the location is perfect. Now the not so good - low water pressure, not that hot water, no in room coffee and a little tired room. We were in a room advertised and billed as for 4 people - king bed and pull out couch. The tired pull out couch bed was smaller than a full bed but not as small as a twin. We slept 3 in the king bed and one on the pullout. The room was set up for 3 people like only 3 towels and the room and bath were very small for 4 people. I think I overheard that the hotel is about to be renovated. Oh, and there was coffee in the lobby. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Modern, Clean & Quiet

Dec 7th, 2019

We had stayed here several times when it was the Hilton Garden Inn, so we were a bit concerned it wouldn't be up to Hilton standards. But it was every bit as good as the Garden Inn, although the restaurant was closed for renovations. The front desk person was very outgoing & friendly at check-in, we didn't have contact with any other staff during our short stay. But the hallways and room were clean and we had no issues with noise from the outside or other rooms. The only issue we had (same as under Hilton) was with the glass sliding bathroom doors. It's impossible for one person to be sleeping while another is using the bathroom. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
