Amazed it has the Hilton Name

Jun 27th, 2020

Very friendly reception at the front desk. Almost felt we had an out and maybe should have considered it......she explained they were remodeling. Is that OK she asked? If it wasn’t for her I would have rated our stay even lower. She tried very hard.... It was our first trip since the beginning of COVID 19 and we were testing the waters to try and get back into traveling again. We were tired from traveling and said we would just go ahead and stay. Didn’t feel like finding another room at that late hour. Little did we know the extent of the reconstruction. If it’s this bad, close the facility! Don’t tarnish the Hilton name with subpar amenities. Sorry - no amenities! Or at least discount the room somehow? We used points and it would have been so easy to just knock off 5000-10,000 points and be up front about it. Pool closed. Gym closed. Kitchen closed. Bar closed. Construction material stacked around. Something even set off the fire alarm so we evacuated the hotel. (See the fire truck at front door) Kind of hilarious after a while. Next morning. Coffee pot broken. No hairdryer.... called from desk and asked for coffee pot. She came up and opened another room so we could use the coffee pot down the hall. That was wild! It didn’t have a hairdryer either? Maybe they’re taking out the hairdryers (COVID 19). Mentioned all this in the morning at checkout. (No free breakfast). And the manager said he would compensate us by knocking off some of the points used. Even gave us his name. Apparently he got busy and forgot.......... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not what you’d expect from Hilton property

Mar 18th, 2020

•dirty fork on hall floor outside our room •smelly food items in refrigerator •several hairs in one of the beds (on top of fitted sheet on the mattress) •When we pulled the covers back there was a bug crawling across the bed I do think that housekeeping had been in the room before we checked in because the first thing we noticed in the room was a very sweet note and a few pieces of candy left for us on top of a folded towel that appeared to be left by housekeeping. A big thank you to the lady who left it (it was signed by Betty) however things quickly went downhill from there. I would have liked to have met her to thank her in person. We didn’t find the other hotel staff to be friendly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Filthy even during virus scare

Mar 17th, 2020

Stayed here a few times while in town and most recent visit on 3/8/20, the room on the 2nd floor was filthy. There was hair, eyelashes and crumbs on the desk and TV console, hair on the floor of the bathroom and in the tub, and hair in the bed that I had to pick out. The tub was dirty like it hadn't been scoured in months, and was zero bath towels left out. But after all that, there was a note from the housekeeper left on the bed with a Reese's peanut butter cup. I believe the name was "Betty" but I might be mistaken. Nice gesture, but she could have cleaned the room first. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Terrible construction

Mar 17th, 2020

Don’t book!! Spend your money somewhere else. Construction is very loud. Parking is difficult with construction. Noise does not stop. Many hotels in the area. Much better option. Pool is closed. Food is over priced and terrible. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

An oldie but goodie

Mar 8th, 2020

I met some friends and stayed at this hotel during the latest Tedeschi Trucks shows at the Ryman. It was a hike to get downtown np but far less expensive to stay here and made it painless to get to and from the airport with their shuttle. It’s an older property and they are in the midst of updating at this time. The lobby area has 2 gas fireplaces and plenty of comfy seating. Restaurant was pretty good and good selections in the menu. Breakfast cooked to order and yummy. I would definitely stay here again and hope next time the pool is useable. It was closed during my stay for repairs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
