Wonderful stay among difficult time

Mar 16th, 2020

We stayed at this location during the rise of COVID19 concerns and precautions and still had an amazing time. Our room was cleaned daily, the staff wore gloves, and hand-sanitizer was placed outside of the elevators. Simple things letting us know they were taking precautions was helpful. The location of this hotel can't be beat and our view of the ESB were a wonderful reminder of our time here! The front desk staff was helpful with directions and recommendations, as well as making sure we had a car to the airport. Room size is typical of NYC. We had a king, both left our suitcases out and had walking room. The closet was nice and having a small refrigerator and microwave was helpful. Will definitely stay here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Location, friendly staff and good prices!!

Mar 5th, 2020

I did so much research before deciding to stay here...best decision ever!! The subway is just outside the hotel. Bus stop is a minute away. Great rooftop bar next door, Monarch. Great Japanese Restaurant on the other side, Mews!! Great food and excellent cocktails at both places. You will not be disappointed!! Must ask for Tameika at the Front Desk. Always going the extra for the guests💕💕 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Back here after 3 years!

Mar 2nd, 2020

Travelled all the way from Virginia Beach by land for almost 7 hours. So exhausted but came early in the morning. Main doors were closed from 11-5:30 am I believe, and I think the idea is great (for security purposes). We were let in by the front desk agent. Although there's no rooms available for an early check in, he let us leave our bags in the storage room & use the lower lever bathrooms. Front desk agentd were just okay, maybe they are a little tired. There is this maintenance staff who I kept bumping into and he was very friendly and fun to talk with. Overall, great location and our room was very clean and spotless! We'll be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location for theater weekend

Feb 29th, 2020

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on 35th for a weekend trip to see a show. The room rate was a very good deal and the hotel was clean and comfortable. I didn't use any transportation except getting to and from LGA, I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go (theater district, Times Square TKTS booth, Bryant Park). This was a theater weekend for me and this was an excellent home base. Plenty of restaurants nearby, from fast food to fancy, shopping, and the whole NYC experience. A few issues included the mobile key never once working in the elevator (and you must have a key to push the elevator buttons to guest floors) and a non-working safe in my room, which took about 15-20 minutes for an engineer to fix. As a Hilton Honors Gold member, there was no water placed in my room so I had to go to the desk for it as I checked in using the app. The biggest concern I had was when I went to the desk to ask for a physical key so I could get to my floor, I wasn't asked for any proof that I was staying at the hotel or of who I was. I insisted upon showing my ID, but the desk clerk was ready to give me a key based on room number and the fact that I used the app to check in, which was very distressing. I did say my name, so it's possible they would have asked for it, but not sure. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
