Great stay in NYC

Feb 21st, 2020

Spent three nights in February here and the location and accommodations couldn't have been better. Staff was attentive, room was comfortable and all I needed (complete with coffee maker, microwave and fridge). No resort fees (big plus in my book). Short walks to everything I wanted to see. Stayed here once before and will stay again in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect Location for Subway & Shoppers

Feb 20th, 2020

The 34th St/Herald Square Subway station is less than 100feet from the front door. This gets you direct access to the BDFM & NQRW lines. Or for people intimidated by the subway letters, the orange and yellow lines. The 123 (red) subway line is 3 blocks away and most other lines are 1 subway transfer away at 42st. Macy's and Target are within 2 blocks, and K-Town is 3 blocks away. The room had a mini-fridge, microwave, in-room safe and nice tiled shower. Elevator requires key card access which is a nice security feature. The breakfast is the only downfall; those expecting the normal Hilton Garden Inn restaurant will be disappointed. The breakfast here is more like a grab and go continental than the usual Hilton Garden Inn buffet and omelet chef. And it's not free unless you're a gold or diamond member but that is standard HGI policy. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not a good way to do business--a $450 mistake

Feb 20th, 2020

I accidentally booked a Hilton hotel room--through Hotels.com--for the wrong dates, and boy did I pay for that mistake! This was one of those great rates, but the reservation couldn't be canceled. I was aware of that, and I obviously didn't mean to enter the wrong dates--something I didn't realize until immediately after I had confirmed the purchase. I tried to fix my error within minutes of making it. I spent a long time trying to find a human being I could talk to--both at the hotel itself and at Hotels.com. I finally reached a Hotels.com rep who spoke to the hotel, and she confirmed that I would be charged the full amount if I canceled. But--they could offer me a deal (ha!)--I could modify the reservation to the dates I needed as long as I stayed at the same hotel. It would only cost me an additional $200! So, I basically made a $450 mistake. This is a terrible and inhumane way to do business. Only these big hotel chains can get away with treating their customers like this. Both Hotels.com and the Hilton stink, and I'll never do business with either of them again TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean and friendly, great location

Feb 18th, 2020

We stayed in a 2 Queen room and the only issue was that the beds were not comfortable..........The rooms were clean, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions. Hotel location right near subway and walkable to Times Square and Rockefeller Plaza. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
