excellent off season stay

Nov 18th, 2020

awesome off season stay! Clean lobby and grounds. Staff was friendly efficient. Outdoor seating area has a nice fire pit and heated pool. Indoor pool and hot tub was a nice option on a windy day. Booked the oceanfront room with jetted tub. The room door was sealed with a "sanitized" sticker. Spacious room with balcony and amazing views. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Hotel needs Updating

Oct 22nd, 2020

We love staying at the Hilton. But it is in terrible need of a remodel/update. Everything is old and outdated and some fixtures not working too well. The restaurant opened on first floor at our mid stay. The food and service was goo. However, the bar had different hours each day. Wasn't consistent. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay after early minor issue

Oct 14th, 2020

After checking in to our room I quickly realized our toilet would not flush. I went immediately downstairs to where I checked in to let them know of the issue. Maintenance was at my room in under 15 minutes. Outstanding. Other than that the beds were very comfortable. The breakfasts were good. (I paid for them as part of room charge). Probably could have found better choices outside hotel but I liked eating at hotel before we explored the area each day, so don't regret it. I hadn't been to OBX in 30+ yrs, my wife never. Due to the time we arrived the 1st night (Sun) there weren't too many choices for food. We ended up at Art's Place (very good burgers... got there just before closed) The next day saw 4 lighthouses plus Wright Brothers Memorial. Had lunch at Miller's in Nags Head. Outstanding crabcakes, etc. Had dinner at Lighthouse Bar in Hatteras area, which was also good. Next day had lunch at High Cotton BBQ which is across street from hotel before headed home. Really good BBQ. We loved having the pier and beach at the hotel. When we come back to area we will stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay!

Oct 10th, 2020

We absolutely had a great time staying at this hotel. Very nice staff. It seemed very busy but the covid restrictions were in place and most people were adhering to them. There are always a few who do their own thing and ignore what they have been asked to do. We loved our ocean view balcony room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Average hotel in a good location

Oct 8th, 2020

The property is well situated by the beach and the main road—hence, getting an ocean view room is of course best. The hotel is a bit dated and, while the room was clean, the balcony was less clean and it could use a screen door. This is not a fancy hotel by any measure, but it will do for a short stay. Also, make sure you don’t forget anything in the room upon checkout as you’ll probably never get it back! We forgot a phone charger and, even if we realized that we forgot it in the room within a couple of hours after we checked out, and we called and left voice messages, and three days later we even stopped by the hotel to see if we could retrieve it, we were told that nothing was found—I guess the cleaning staff really needed a phone charger!
