Very nice staff. Great location

stayed here right before the Corona closed everything. Walked from train station; walked to Times Square and Central Park. The hotel is not new but was clean and had everything we needed. Also good value for NYC. We did not eat here. Would definitely come back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location but lack of friendly staff

The hotel is located right in the heart of New York great location to go out and about. great food readily avialable right outside the hotel, the breakfast selection was great full of flavors and a great choice to choose from. The staff were fine, but would be nice to see a smile sometimes at the restaurant. But i do recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in the heart of New York TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location, Location, Location

We stayed here last year about this time and it was perfect for going to the theatre, shopping, seeing Times Square and just a short taxi ride up to Central Park. It was clean, beds comfortable and reasonably priced. Plus there was a grocery store in the same block that kept us nicely fed for breakfast and in between visits to some great restaurants in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is the worst experience I have ever had in my life. Arrive to hotel on December 29th at 7;00 am after a red eye flight knowing that the room would not be ready. We went to front desk and checked in and was told room would ready at noon. We told them we would take any room available no matter on the type of bed. They said sure no problem. We then left for breakfast and back around noon and they said try again at 2:00 being as tired as we we're we slept on the couches in the lobby. We started to see people arrive and they we're receive rooms. As well as the staff was not treating other guest kindly. For example being rude to international guest when they were having trouble speaking english, Sitting on the couches not even 5 feet away from them this left a very poor taste in my mouth already about this hotel. As time progressed closer to 2:00 more and more people began to get there rooms and we went back up to the desk and the girl became rude and said your room is not available and to come back at 3:00 when check in was. We remained in the lobby as we have had zero sleep and went back up at 3:00 to the desk and then were told that they gave away our room but they also said that they had been holding a room for someone else all day long.And would not give us that room. Now its 3:00 a room has been sitting all day long empty and we have been sitting all day long in the lobby. Front desk staff all three of them become very rude we asked for the manger Yanique Reid came out from the back and said yes check in is at 3:00 we said it is 3:00 she said your room will be ready soon.(with attitude) We then said since it is 3:00 which is check in time and no room is available we do not want the room and we are leaving. I asked for a printout and she charged us for the room $358.70. Which we said the room is still not available so why should we pay when you are not provide the service as is stated. She said thats no her problem. We left and later phoned customer service of Hilton and talked to Lisa she phoned the Hilton garden inn and Chris said nope I'm not crediting them back the money. We have been Hilton members for over 15 years and have never been treated so poorly. Thanks to Lisa at customer service she got us back our money. I would never stay at this location again and would recommend the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel this hotel is fantastic! The Hilton Garden Inn Times square on 8 Avenue is this location that I stayed at and would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Poor quality for the price and “Hilton”name

The initial staff was rude but the staff after that was fine! The fridge was noisy. Location was convenient. The room had a nasty feel to it and smelled like it had water damage. The pillow cases had oil stains from hair products (I’m bald). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
