This hotel was fine for a quick overnight on our way south to Florida. As others have mentioned, the rooms are in need of an update as the furnishings and finishes are dated. Check in was easy, and we were only there for a few hours as we traveled along I75. The room seemed to be very clean considering covid cleaning procedures. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I reluctantly write this review, but feel the TripAdvisor community should have the opportunity to know, and make an educated decision whether to stay here or not. I stayed here for a short overnight as I had an early flight the next morning. The room, hotel, staff were all ok. This is not a newer HGI, but it isn’t in poor shape either. My concern is the next morning I noticed several red dots on my arm/shoulder while getting dressed in the morning. I didn’t think a lot of it as I was on a schedule to catch a flight. The night after staying here, while I was back home getting ready for bed, I noticed over a hundred “bites” on my arms, shoulders, head, neck, and hands. I was mortified. The next morning, I reached out to the Heath Department in Lowndes County where this hotel is located. I wasn’t real sure how to report this situation. The Health Department/Environmental Department assured me they would go to hotel and inspect the room and adjoining rooms and get back to me. Six days later, I called them back to be informed they had not been out yet, but did call the hotel to let them know they needed to have a pest company inspect the room. I then contacted the hotel myself and the GM was pleasant and said they would have the room inspected after the current guest checked out. TWELVE days after I checked out, I received a call and a copy of the inspection report saying no evidence of bed bugs in the room. Now, I’m not making accusations, it is just suspect to me that almost two weeks after I checked out the room is inspected and it is “all clear.” I did visit my healthcare provider and confirmed these were indeed bites from bed bugs. I am also a Hilton Honors Gold member with over 250,000 points. I only stay in Hilton properties as I have, to this point, only have had a handful of minor issues. I will still stay in Hilton properties, just certainly not this one. The hotel GM did call to let me know the results of the inspection. I appreciate that; but I would strongly encourage anyone risking staying here to flip those mattresses, pull those sheets out, inspect behind those headboards and end tables before sleeping. I don’t wish this experience on anyone else. Enjoy the pictures. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We choose Hilton Garden Inn because it is clean and safe and normally has great customer service. In this case the woman in duty was barely helpful. We asked for a king room. She gave us a room with two double beds. We called her from the room. Instead of saying that she was sorry and she could move us. She argued (lied) and said that we asked for two queens. We just hung up. We won't go back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Arrival Experience Sub-standard

Upon arrival at approximately 930 PM, there was no desk clerk in sight and 5 people waiting to check in. After about 10 minutes, she appeared without an apology. Meanwhile, we are all standing there with about half of the guests not wearing the required masks as posted at entrance. Other guests came wandering by without masks as well. The desk agent was wearing hers under her nose (totally ineffective). When it was my turn, I inquired if the hotel was not enforcing their mask policy. Her response was "Masks"? I informed her that the man who had checked in ahead of me had stood in front of her for the entire time (at least 5 minutes) without a mask. She stated that she hadn't noticed. Staff should be fully aware and politely ask people to don a mask. It made me wonder of the room really had been adequately cleaned or if they just slapped the sticker over the door. So out to the car for a package of sanitizing wipes to clean the entire room before I felt comfortable touching anything. I should certainly be able to feel safe and confident. The room is outdated and the carpet felt damp and was starting to come up from the floor. At breakfast, Terence was wonderful. Put me at ease about cleanliness and COVID procedures and was very attentive. Was nice to have breakfast as some Hilton properties, including Macon, are not providing it. Will probably continue on to Tifton in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
