Fantastic Hotel, Location

Jul 21st, 2019

Although I only got to enjoy this hotel for about 8-9 hours during an extended layover, the time I did spend was quite enjoyable. The staff were very helpful in getting me situated and ensured I knew when the breakfast would be available, etc. They offer two time frames for breakfast; the first one is very early to accommodate travelers with early flights and the other opens at 0600 and is in the main restaurant. The selection is quite expansive and there should be something there for everyone to enjoy. I definitely recommend this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Leaving Finland

Jul 12th, 2019

Very close to airport, perfect for walking, even with luggage as trolleys are available. Clean and comfortable room. Reasonably priced overnight stay. Would reommend and stay again. Check-in staff all spoke good English and were very helpful. Shopping centre a short bus ride away. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hotel is basic accommodation

Jul 10th, 2019

Stayed here the night before our early morning flights. The check in process was very smooth, and the hotel staff worked with us to resolve an issue that came up with our rooms - 5 stars for the staff. The rooms themselves have gotten a bit dated over the years and could use an update, but for the one night we stayed, it was adequate. The bathrooms are interesting - the tub is somehow hovering over the floor, and water leaks out underneath onto the floor! When I drained the tub, almost the entire bathroom floor was covered in a few cm of water (which eventually went to the drain, but still, scary!). The beds could use a mattress topper or something to soften them a bit, as they are quite hard. The restaurant at this hotel is excellent, and the mini breakfast service they provide before 7 or 8 am is fine. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great except for technological challenges

Jul 8th, 2019

Really good service at front desk and for meals and breakfasts were great. Only issue was lack of clarity in instructions for thermostat in rooms. If you want heat, you turn up thermostat but torn OFF fan. Instructions below thermostate are not clear about this. The little person in the house indicates whether you are in the room odr not, so move the person out of the house when you leave. Instructions do not address this at all. Likewise, instructions don't specify that bathroom floors can be heated if you want, via control under sink. Floor may or may not be on when you arrive, depending on whether guest prior to you wanted it off or not. Karjalan pirakka at breakfast are very nice but cool off quickly; would be nice to have induction oven or some such to warm them up. Other than those minor items, a really nice place to stay. Convenient for Helsinki Airport Layover

Jul 1st, 2019

If you find yourself with an overnight layover @ Helsinki airport, the airport Hilton is a very good option. A 5-10 mins walk from the terminal exit (it would typically be shorter but with massive construction ongoing at the Helsinki airport with accompanying diversions the “2 minutes walk” on the hilton website is not accurate). The front desk staff are helpful and efficient, and the rooms are what I’d characterize as that simple but very well functioning Nordic design. A room on the 4th or 5th floor will likely give you some view of the airport & runway, versus a likely view from a lower floor if the construction or a parking lot! If your layover is more than one night, then head into the Helsinki for a hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
