Business Meeting

Aug 21st, 2019

We stayed at the downtown Hilton for a business meeting. The hotel is in a great spot, very central to everything in the downtown area. The hotel was nice and I have no complaints. The front staff was especially good in dealing with my issues. My luggage was delayed and they provided me with some supplies and info to get some new clothes. They also were every good in keeping me updated with the delivery of my luggage. There is a restaurant & bar in the hotel and a Starbucks (what more could you ask for). I would stay here again. Hilton customer service tarnished

Aug 14th, 2019

Sadly, the Hilton brand is tarnished by poor customer service here. I have a booking well over 24 hours away. Due to the fact that I now have an urgent doctor's apt the following day I asked if I could book a Hilton hotel closer to home. The man I spoke with at the Knoxville Hilton sounded like a robot, "you must cancel 48 hrs in advance." "But, can you work with me? I'm happy to book another Hilton. This is a medical issue," I shared. "You must cancel 48 hours in advance." That's all he said. Every. Single. Time. I said something. The man was curt, snotty in tone, and completley unhelpful. In the past, I've found Hilton helpful--they'll work with you. They don't follow a set policy, but instead are customer focused. Not here. He was robotic and unhelpful. This kind of tone and attitude does not reflect well on the brand. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I don't have high hopes for full-service Hiltons (at least domestically) any more. This one doesn't even meet my low bar. * Parking is confounding; ultimately I figured out that you have to park in a tiny, cramped driveway to go check in and get a plastic card to access the garage. Really, in 2019? (On a positive note, self-parking is $16/night vs. $30 for valet, and none of the public surface lots nearby allow overnight parking, so the cost is reasonable even if the access sucks.) * While I should be grateful for any club lounge, this one stinks--small, on the first floor off the lobby, no view, mediocre appetizers, and no alcohol, even for sale. Sidebar comment: why are all club lounge and breakfast area TVs always BLARING? * The room is ordinary--just what you'd expect--except that the toilet runs forever until you jiggle the handle. I finally had to open the top of the tank--YECH. I don't even like doing that in my own house! The a/c unit, in-wall, works and isn't rattly like the miserable DoubleTree Charlotte, but the entire front panel is hanging off (see pic). Does anyone ever check rooms for this kind of thing--simple mechanical stuff like burned-out light bulbs? Is it all left to the housekeeping staff (good folks who are woefully underpaid)? Honestly, why stay at a full-service Hilton when the average Hampton Inn is in better condition? (I only am due to a last-minute trip and limited availability.) I'm a Hilton guy, but if you're staying in Knoxville, the Hyatt Place is two blocks away and VASTLY superior in every way. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel was across the street from my training class (UT Conference Ctr.) which was awesome. Hilton Knoxville was close to many eatery's. The staff was exceptional upon checking in and out. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. I will definitely stay at the Hilton Knoxville again whether I am there for business or pleasure. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Convenient and Clean

Aug 6th, 2019

The hotel was convenient and clean. The bed was comfortable. It was within 5 minute walking to Town Square where there are some good restaurants. Parking garage was close and reasonably priced. gym was a bit small but had what you needed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
