Wonderful Experience in the UK

Mar 18th, 2020

Travelled on business from the states and chose a Hilton expecting a certain level of accommodations and service, and this hotel did not disappoint. Only item that could be improved is the gym size. Odd layout with two rooms on different levels...cardio upstairs and weight training downstairs. If you are a functional fitness person, layout doesn't work in your favor. Otherwise, food and drink was great! Location was great for walking to many restaurants and shopping as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hilton prices for a less than standard experience

Mar 16th, 2020

Arrival and check in was easy enough although the car park is extremely tight and awkward to use as well as expensive to use. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived to our room and it was grubby, with light bulbs needing replacing, a dirty shower curtain in the bath, stained carpet, dusty, mouldy windows and a mattress with springs sticking out. We also only had enough towels for one person and no robes (expected as there was a pool and sauna included in the price). We immediately called down to reception who offered us an upgrade to a 'deluxe room' which honestly was much better but definitely was just the same as the standard with a new bed, wardrobe and bathroom. The deluxe room is what the standard should have been for a hilton. Although the air conditioning/heating didn't work at all and the shower wasn't very powerful. We decided to go for a relaxing swim on Saturday morning, when we walked in to the changing room to hear the sound of lots of children and parents singing the 'okie pokie' to then find out that they hold children's swimming lessons, every Saturday from 9.30am until 1pm meaning our swim was far from relaxing and we didn't stay long. We did complain about this and they gave us 4 free drinks for the evening which was nice of them but the fact remains that they hold children's swimming lessons in the Hilton hotel every Saturday which surely is the busiest time for guests? Irritated is an understatement. The good things were that the staff were kind and as helpful as they could have been, the breakfast was great and the bar was nice. But unfortunately due to the rest of the experience I will not be visiting this hotel on my next visit to Leeds. You are definitely paying for the name and not the hotel itself. Very disappointed. Comfortable stay but..

Mar 16th, 2020

Great hotel and excellent service in central position only a short walk into town. Negatives were just the rooms housekeeping which was rectified swiftly but the several issues highlight poor training. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Location

Mar 10th, 2020

Stayed over a busy weekend and although hotel was quite full with stags and hens our room on the 9th floor was very quiet. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, plenty of hanging space and drawers. The bathroom had a walk-in shower, nice range of toiletries and large soft towels. It would have been nice to have a more comfortable chair in the room, rather than the office type swivel & a bench stool. The public areas are varied and comfortable, the restaurant and bar areas are well laid out and the staff very welcoming & friendly. As mentioned by others, the car park is very tight but is convenient and secure for parking up for your stay as Leeds centre is just a 10 minute walk. As expected there are numerous places to eat in Leeds but would personally recommend 'Bill's' in Albion Place as somewhere a bit different. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good staff but no sleep

Mar 1st, 2020

Stayed here for one night. Staff did everything to help, however, drunken idiots until 3am so very little sleep. The idiot was removed by police but this should of been sorted sooner.Rooms need to be updated, stains on carpets and a blocked sink. Better value and sleep in a premier inn. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
