Never again!!!

Aug 20th, 2019

We are regulars, even a Honours member but after this experience I will not be coming back again. We had booked 2 rooms for 3 adults in each. Therefore we expected there to be a double and single bed and not a sofabed which is unsuitable for any adult. One sofabed was broken yet housekeeping missed that. Management need to sleep in the sofabed bed one night and see how much sleep they get because you definitely will not get any. The facilities are brilliant, one of the main reason we use this hotel but shame the rest of it did not match that. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lets the Hilton hotel group down

Aug 14th, 2019

Stayed for exactly less than 24 hours here and definitely not a good impression. We saw 3 rats in less than 24 hours on the doorstep of the hilton. Very welcoming! I wanted to turn back home but had travelled very far to get here with tired children. There were rats in the garden on the side of the building where the rooms were, in the car park and they were everywhere in and out of the gutters. But not inside as far as i am aware i did not see any inside. We Booked a family room to visit friends for the weekend and enjoy the spa too. Originally wanted to stay at the Marriott across the road which is amazing. But was fully booked so ended up here. We checked in around 7.30 pm after a long 3 hour journey from lancashire and with 2 tired kids aged 2 and 4 i thought i would use the leisure facilities and as the pool is open till 9 pm i would let the kids relax in the pool before bedtime. Well ... the lady at reception said the kids could not use the pool it was hotel policy after 7.30 pm no kids allowed. It was 24degrees hot outside middle of August the summer holidays and no kids allowed in the pool in the evening! What a strange policy i did ask why she did not seem to know just its hotel policy. So you can imagine the kids reaction to this they were pretty upset. We got to the room everything was pretty clean and tidy nothing special looked more like a 3 star travelodge type of room basic amenities. No slippers in the room and not even a fridge to store milk for the toddler which you would expect if its a family room. Checked out early morning at 9am and was sooo glad to leave this place. Do not stay here there are more updated and child friendlier places to stay than here. The leisure facilities were good pool steam room spa was all ok and clean. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good quality hotel

Aug 14th, 2019

Stayed as a family of 4 for 2 nights Aug 19. £6 per 24hrs parking not ideal but understandable with its position. Easy check in a decent room. Beds were ok but not great, quite noisy when turning over. Shower pressure also not very strong. Nice sized room with large TV. Family swimming only upto 7.30pm which was a shame as arrived just after on first night. Pool nice though with good steam and sauna. Breakfast was the highlight, one of the best we’ve had, loads of selection and excellent quality. Nice stay and we’d certainly go back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Weekend Hotel

Aug 11th, 2019

We chose this for a weekend break. It is just off the Motorway and rooms are spacious. It has a lift for one of its wings ( but not the other!) You need to specify lift wing if stairs will be a problem. There is a pool with jacuzzi as well as Sauna and Steam room plus gym. WiFi is only available in Public areas, which is surprising! Parking costs extra, and I would have preferred that the room charge included parking! Buffet breakfast was good value. The staf were very helpful .... I gave one suggestion for management that staff should ask older guests if stairs was a problem and offer a room in the lift wing and also offer help with luggage. We would return to this hotel.
