Not what I expected.

May 18th, 2020

My husband and I had to make a last-minute travel arrangement over the weekend, something we were concerned might not be possible during the pandemic. When we saw that the towering and stately Memphis Hilton was open, we were stoked. We're from Memphis, and my senior prom was held there back when it was still the Adams Mark. The hotel was fairly empty, which wasn't a surprise. The lobby was clean, the front desk clerk was friendly, there were plenty of hand sanitizer stations posted at the entrances and elevators, and plexiglass separated guests from the staff. We felt safe, at least where COVID-19 precautions were concerned. Upon exiting the elevator on our floor, however, we were hit with a cloud of pungent marijuana smoke coming either from the emergency stairs or the room nearest the elevator. I suppose it's a testament to the hotel's insulation and HVAC that the smell never permeated our nearby room, but I felt very unsafe staying at a property where other patrons (or perhaps employees) felt it safe or appropriate to flout rules and common decency in such a manner. The room was relatively well-appointed, and the air was nice and cold (I can't sleep unless it is), but the carpet was in desperate need of a shampoo. My socks were filthy by the end of the night. The gnarled piece of fried chicken batter under the nightstand was an added bonus, I suppose. That, and the free contact high. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hilton Memphis

The overall stay was ok. The rooms seem to be a little outadted and the mattress on the bed seemed to be extremely worn. So I didn't sleep very comfortable. Rooms Service was great, although there was a $11.47 tip on my bill before I recived service. I was a litlle frustrated about that. Because I didn't notice until after the server left and I gave him $10.00 tip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Business trip and booked in advance by organization

Mar 12th, 2020

its difficult to find first time , 30 minutes drive or 28$ Uber trip to Beale , no valet , no baggage attendants , parking ridiculous , Olive Garden, Logans and Panera Bread nearby ; dont make the mistake of eating at the Hotel . Desk staff only thing in line with other Hiltons , great to deal with and helpful. Rooms look and feel like they were cut in half during a remodel .Pay the extra money and go downtown Hilton ,Sheraton or The Peabody TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stay somewhere else

Parking is terrible and my air didn’t work properly in my room. The temp continued to rise despite putting temp on 60. I was so hot I only slept about 3 hours. I told them about problem upon checkout and they acted like I didn’t even say anything. Not what you expect for the price of the rooms and from Hilton. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
