Poor bar food

Dec 11th, 2019

had to wait over half an hour for bar food and it turned up burnt and cold. No bar staff around to complain to so we left food and returned to our rooms. previously stayed here and restaurant food is great but wouldnt go near the bar menu again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing

We stayed for one night after a day in Newcastle . Our room was very comfortable with a wonderful view of the Tyne. Lovely breakfast served by smiley people. Parking was an added bonus . We Would not look further for a stay in Newcastle. Easy access to the quayside and all the amenities of both Newcastle and Gateshead. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Manager went above and beyond!

Dec 2nd, 2019

On Sunday I lost something at the hotel. It was very valuable and when I told the manager he did a room search for me where I thought I’d lost it. When it didn’t show up he took me to find the cleanup staff who remembered seeing it and thinking it was rubbish cleared it away. It wasn’t their fault - it looked cheap but wasn’t!! They went through 3 bin bags of rubbish to find it. So big thanks to Jake Cavanagh and his team. A lot of hotels or staff would have said to just leave it with them and they’ll ring if it turns up. They didn’t. They all went above and beyond. Top marks!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fabulous hotel.

Dec 2nd, 2019

Stayed here for a recent business trip. Shame it was only one night as this is a great hotel. Checked in online which speeds things up when I arrived and allowed me to get in the room ahead of official checkin time. The staff were all very friendly. Great large room overlooking the bridge and river. There is parking under the hotel. There is a charge but it was zero for me due to Hilton status. The executive lounge offer a good choice of snacks and beer, wine and soft drinks. Breakfast offered hot and cold choices along with omelettes cooked to order. Will stay again when I'm next in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Another favourite place to stay, despite only being a mile from home.....

Dec 1st, 2019

We decided to have a night at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton very recently for my wife's birthday, we live nearby, but she'd heard about the fantastic views over the Tyne from the Deluxe Rooms. The experience was fantastic from the moment we arrived, the room was great, we had a lovely meal in the restaurant and generally enjoyed all of the facilities. Despite the impressive environment and surroundings, it's the staff team at these venues that make more impact and have the greatest positive effect on our experience, and I say that from the point of view of someone who stays in hotels of all styles and standards, all over the UK, almost every week due to our work. Kirsty-Anne at reception is a great asset to the hotel, and to the firm on a larger scale. It's individuals like her that make all the difference, in a very positive, memorable way. She was so helpful, positive, friendly and professional, the efforts she made, knowing it was Andrea's birthday, actually moved my wife to tears. All of the staff we encountered were excellent, but Tia in the restaurant also deserves special credit, again for effort and attitude above and beyond. Despite us living minutes away, my wife says we're going back at least once a month..... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
