Give us a second chance to make up for the bad stay last year, DONT

I brought my wife to the HIlton Opera in December after her second surgery relating to cancer. The stay in December was a disaster, we had mulled in the room, see my previous post for pictures. This was followed by poor service in the lounge and then with management not even agreeing to respond to my concerns. We just checked in today after we were asked to given them another try, clearly this appears to be a mistake. We checked in and once again, the excuses started. As a gold and platinum card member for more than 20 years I've never seen an upgrade from Hilton property in Paris. The attitude of the staff at the front desk was poor at best, it was like they were doing us a favour for letting us stay at their property. Our room was not ready and at least we were allowed to use the lounge. When I ask if they would bring us the key when the room was ready I was told " I'll see what I can do " and it came across as how dare we ask for the key to be given to use. Clearly customer service is not a priority and even after receiving an email from the Managment team that they would ensure our stay would not be a repeat of December, the staff are off to a miserable stater. On or second day my wife was tired and when we called to order room service we were told the item we wanted did not exist on the menu, a pizza with mushroom and ham, in short it did. We had a lengthy discussion and I was told to talk to the front desk. When I did they were little help and ask me to come to the front desk which I did. At the front desk I spoke to the manager and they had no explanation and offered no solution. In short its a Hilton by name only. Its more like a motel 6, avoid at all cost. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Hotel and Great Staff

The minute we walked in the door I knew I had chosen a good hotel. The property is well maintained, the staff is simply amazing, and the property is in a great location. There are several restaurant options close by, high-end shopping is a very short walk away, and it's conveniently located to the Metro. We reserved two rooms and they both were very roomy and well appointed. I would highly recommend whether you are a couple or a family. Thank you Hilton Paris Opera for help making our stay in Paris a memorable one! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bad attitude for a hotel known for service

I do not recommend this hotel for any Hilton Honors members. They do not acknowledge your status. The executive lounge/breakfast is mediocre compared to other locations. However, what really stood out to me was how rude and pretentious the front desk staff were from start to finish. Not only was I not granted an upgrade although I am a diamond member but upon request for a late check out, I was threatened by the staff that there would be a 100 euro charge if I stayed over in the room. Although the hotel is beautiful and in a great location (hence the two stars not one), the attitude from the staff ruins the experience. Both times I was at the front desk, I witnessed the staff being rude to not only me but to other guests as well. Thank god I only stayed for one night. I will never come back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful hotel in a great location

Our family stayed 8 nights at the Hilton Paris Opera in August. We loved the hotel. Impeccably clean. Friendly staff. Terrific location near the metro and bus lines, and a pleasant walk (1-2 miles) from many attractions. Surprisingly nice fitness room. We will stay here again if we return to Paris. Terrible service ruins the experience

We checked into the Hilton Opera about 3 hours ago and the experience has already been so awful that we are contemplating leaving. That is, if our bags ever show up. Upon check-in we were never thanked for being Diamond members, and nobody offered to take our bags. We inquired about an upgrade as is often given to Diamond members and were told that none were available even though I saw several better rooms available online. They said our room wouldn’t be ready for an hour (it was 2:30pm) even though I had notified the hotel we would be coming in around 2pm. We went to the executive lounge and it was incredibly sparse. We then left to walk around and came back. Our room was available, but it is at the end of the hall and is tiny. There is no bath tub even though it was requested. But alas, that’s not why I wrote this review. We have been waiting on our bags for over half an hour now. Our bags should have been delivered 1.5 hours ago when our room was ready. They should have been waiting up here. But no, we are sitting in our room late for our evening plans because they haven’t brought them up in the 45 minutes that we have been back at the hotel. This hotel is a disgrace to the Hilton name and they should be ashamed of themselves. If I was staying for more than one night I would immediately cancel my reservation. I am a frequent traveler and am loyal to Hilton but will no longer continue to be if this is the type of treatment I can expect going forward. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
