Hilton in the City center

Jun 15th, 2019

As a loyal Global client of Hilton - always feel happy and satisfied after my stay. Always feel at home with very friendly and caring staff. The amenities inside the hotel complex are most desired compared to other hotels. Transport Services is very reasonable and easily available. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Poor value

Jun 15th, 2019

We stayed in a junior suite for 5 nights. It was dated and dingy - looked like it hadn't been decorated since the 1990s. It wasn't really a suite, just a reasonably sized room with a sofa in the corner. The hotel has a big business facility and there were two big conferences on during our stay. That meant the lobby and public areas were full of business people, signage, workstations etc. which took away from the holiday feel for us. As some of the other reviews point out, this hotel is a few blocks away from Union Square and on the edge of the Tenderloin district. There are lots of homeless people around - this is a problem for much of San Francisco at the moment but particularly in this area. Overall, I don't think this hotel is as luxurious and you would expect for the price. Plus they charge more than £10 a day for wi-fi in the room, which is ridiculous for 2019. Even when we paid for it, the wi-fi reception was terrible and we had to complain. The breakfast buffet was £35 or £30 just for continental option, so we didn't bother. There are several good diners nearby. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stinky pillows

Jun 13th, 2019

This I would never expect by such a reputable chain, actually by any hotel, pension, hostel. As soon as a I got to the room I got to bed and the smell of all 4 pillows was disgusting. The outer pillow cases were clean but the pillows were very smelly. Smell of dirt, of pillows that had been used by hundreds of customers and never washed and sanitized. Had do call housekeeping to request clean pillows, which I got after a little while. It is not acceptable. Unfortunately it happens, but it shouldn't. Health and safety springs to mind. Good 1 Nighter

Jun 11th, 2019

I loved the location. The Staff is super friendly and nice. It can be a quiet part of town on the weekends despite being at fisherman's wharf. The rooms are super clean, modern and nice. We'll definitely stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
