Bed Bug

I wasn’t going to post this, however, after not hearing back from anyone at Hilton after I called to share my experience, I feel it’s time. From the moment my issue occurred I took the approach of trying to be understanding since we are all dealing with stressful times. I checked in on Thursday May 21st and was placed in a room on the 11th floor. I dropped my bag off and ran out to run errands. When I returned, I opened my suitcase and sat on the bed to get some work done. After sitting there for a couple of hours I stood up and noticed a tiny bug crawling on the bed. When I looked closer it was clear that it was a bed bug. I grabbed a glass cup and covered it. I immediately called the front desk and informed them. In the meantime I took a picture and a short video. When their cleaning supervisor arrived and I lifted the cup the bug was dead. So I immediately showed him the video. He had a special flashlight and said, well since it’s dead I can’t confirm it’s a bug. Again I showed him the video, which is time stamped and geo-tagged. He said they would move me to another room. I started collecting my items and told him I wanted to speak to the front desk about just switching hotels all together. When I got downstairs the person their said that he was not sure what other Hilton branded hotels were even open. I was tired from traveling all day, it was after 8 p.m and just didn’t have the energy to fight. I agreed to switch to a different room if inspected in front of me and sprayed with their “special bug Killer solution”. This was done, but I did not sleep the entire night because of the situation. At 4 a.m. I sent a message that instead of staying 2 nights I was checking out and that I wanted my points for the second night refunded. I received a message that this was ok but to stop by the front desk on my way out. At around 8 a.m. I stopped by and was greeted by the same women who checked me in. I was shocked at how unsympathetic and short she was with me. All considered I was beyond nice about it. She said it was “corporates decision” If I’d get my points for the second night back and it could take months. I asked for the manager and she said “actually, that’s me” and she handed me her card which by the way did not list her as the manager. I told her to check me out and do what she needed to ensure my points were returned. Later that day I noticed she never even checked me out. I called Hilton member services and put in a formal complaint. The agent confirmed that I had not been checked out, meanwhile I was checked into a different Hilton (Hotel Alba, btw amazing!) so it was clear I was no longer there. I got a complaint number and was told I’d be contacted for resolution. I have yet to be contacted with confirmation that my points will be returned for the night in which I wasn’t even at the Hilton in Tampa. All around a terrible experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Post Quarantine Mini Vacation

Our stay at the Hilton Downtown Tampa was absolutely amazing. Our room was so clean, so comfortable and our view was exceptional. The hospitality was above and beyond and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an awesome place to stay. A huge shoutout to all the Hilton staff for making our stay amazing!! Great location

In town for business during the Covid 19 and this hotel was great. Very clean with all the precautions in place, great service. The pool area is open and the gym also, social distances in place but great to be able to have both open. Located by the water and great local restaurants all doing take out. Will be back. Suites are located on the 3rd floor FYI. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location-Great Stay

Location was convenient to everything downtown! Great service and nice clean hotel. Stayed at hotel for a work conference and the meetings were in a great location if you were staying at the hotel. Hot tub and bar were also great perks of the trip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great visit

Great bed and pillows. Great location. Great service. Great views. Very clean. The staff was very friendly. We had our car in the over night garage because it was safe and we did not want to deal with parking garages. They drove our car out with no problem TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
