Despite coronavirus restrictions still best place to stay close to Dulles airport
Aug 6th, 2020
Operating with minimal staff, the Dulles Hilton still provides a great and safe hotel experience only a ten minute free shuttle to the airport. Masks mandatory and the pool is closed. Restaurants operate mostly by take out but you can eat n both most guests don't. More limited menus. Rooms cleaned very well before guest arrival and sealed. When you first enter you break the seal. Rooms still comfortable and front desk will get you extra towels or coffee as room service not available. Shuttle to and from the airport needs to be asked for in advance which is not a problem (call front desk) and it keeps social distancing working. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Pet Room Blues

Flew in from the Middle East to stay in DC a couple of days for moving purposes. First problem with the hotel was with the shuttle. We waited at the shuttle area in Dulles airport. We were told that the shuttles came every 20 minutes. We waited almost an hour for the shuttle to arrive, but it never came. We ended up taking a taxi. Speaking of the shuttle, we could only take the shuttle from the hotel room at night, which ended up being awful due to the food being so overpriced and to be honest.... gross. We came with a cat, so we purchased a room with a 75$ "pet friendly fee". Turns out that room wasn't as pet friendly as expected. No litter box, no cat equipment, no food bowl. We ended up feeding him from the plastic containers our room service came in. For a 75$ fee, I was expecting there to be some sort of amenities. We entered our suite to see a nasty old room that definitely wasn't worth 100 $ a night. The curtains had cigarette burns on the other end, and were unclosable. Not to mention the fact that there were bright garden lights outside making it hard to sleep. The AC was very very cold and there was no water dispenser or bottled water anywhere in sight. Now for the food review: Our first night at the Hilton, I ordered some room service food to my room. The food was ridiculously overpriced and when I got it, it was in plastic takeout boxes, and when I tried it, it tasted really bad. The next morning, I ate breakfast at the Breakfast place. The food was better, but it was very pricey to be expected. I ordered orange juice and it was 5$!!! The internet was very very very slow, and if you wanted better service, you had to pay! In summary, The Hilton is not pet friendly and not a good place if you want to save money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Where is the shuttle!

A large Hilton. Old rooms with an outdated decor. Stayed here several times over the past years. Not sure why. The shuttle service is really poor - consistently. You usually see the competition swing by at twice the rate of Hilton. If you are like me that after a long trip you just want to get to your hotel, chose Marriott. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Flew in from the middle East and after approximately 20 hours of combined flight times I was ready for some rest. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport that runs every 30 minutes or so, that is a plus for sure. It's about a 10 minute ride in a new spacious van with good air conditioning. You can tell the hotel has been open for awhile as it is showing some age, but still in good condition. Upon arrival check-in was quite quick and accurate. The Room was nice size and it was clean, TV was nice size and plenty of channels to choose from, the bathroom was well lit and clean, plenty of towels and the water pressure was OK, I prefer high pressure water when I shower but that is very rare now days in a hotel. Bed was comfy and air conditioning worked well, due to to the Covid BS the restaurant was closed so had to get take away and pick it up at front desk, it was ready in under 15 minutes and it was good, little pricey but convenient. I'd recommend staying here as the location is good, service was good also. Hopefully the Covid panic will be over soon so all that is offered at this hotel can be utilized. Next time I travel through DC I will stay here again..... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very nice hotel with superb staff. I hope that the restaurant, regular housekeeping, and other amenities come back soon! Given the circumstances, no complaints at all. The location near the Dulles airport, and the available shuttle, was nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
