my 2nd visit and I can't wait for the 3rd

I have now been to Hodges bay two years in a row. First with fiends and this time with the family. We all had the most amazing time. A real slice of paradise. The private beach is glorious and the staff super friendly. We had an ocean front room right on the beach. Truly fabulous. Thank you Hodges bAY TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Loved it !

10/10 hotel. Despite being in a COVID-19 period , less occupancy etc - they made us feel safe, clean , protected and shielded. This hotel has a feeling like no other round the world. There is a feeling of a community / a family. When entering , staff remember your name , your food dietary requirements, and drink preferences- made to feel very personable. They are so friendly and a real positive vibe is oozing around the resort. If ever there are any problems an incredibly kind and patient manager is on site to help - Celia. The rooms are stunning with incredible views too. Food delicious. Location great. All in all very happy couple :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Almost...

A beautiful resort with so many positives but it's a 3.5 star wanting to be a 5 star. The positives are the very lovely physical structure and the really nice staff. The negatives are the food and beverage program is inconsistent at best. Lunch every day (7 days in a row) was an extremely frustrating experience. Never less then an hour between order and food. It seems like a small thing but when all you're doing is beach and lunch during the day, it's 50% of the experience. If they fix f&b they'll be 4 star all day long. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing holiday in the sun

We just returned from an awesome two week trip to Antigua. We were very happy we chose Hodges Bay. The whole family (two fourteen year olds boys and one 10 year old boy) loved the resort and in particular how great the staff were. We rented a three bedroom on the second floor which had an amazing view. My guess is all the larger units have great views. Very close to the Ocean. Clearly, travelling right now is different because of Covid. This was our first trip since the start of the pandemic. I felt like the hotel did a good job related to making us feel safe and like they took it seriously. Restaurants onsite were very good. We mostly ate at White Sands for breakfast and about half our lunches. The dinners we did have were good. Because we were there for a longer time and like to go out we went out for many dinners. Jackie-O, Sheer Rocks and Catherine’s on the beach were the favs of the longer distance options. Jackie-O was the best (go for sunset) but all three really great. Closer Bistro and Stellas as well as the Cove are good options. We had a rental car but for driving at night used Trevor who was alway prompt on getting us from the resort and collecting us. He’s certainly who to ask for for all taxi needs. Big white van. For activities the hotel lets you use all the water sports and will drive you to the Prickly Pear Island for no extra charge. I liked that none of this cost more given you are paying for your room already. The guys on the beach were amazing and would come up with ideas. Off resort the activities we liked were the swimming with stringrays, a wavy day at half moon beach and Kitesurfing lesson just down the way from Kitesurf Antigua. Clearly having all boys influences our choice of activities. My youngest went horseback riding and really liked it too. Also - a highlight was renting Barefoot to take us for a cruise around Antigua one day. It was a good value for a 32ft twin engine boat. We had planned Barbuda but the seas were too rough. I think it was just as fun around the island. Staff. All amazing. Katharina was the person that helped with our booking and was amazingly prompt and very nice. The four Butlers were so great. Always a smile and friendly hello. Very helpful with anything we needed. Made us all feel like we were on a luxury vacation. I did feel like all the staff from gardeners to servers liked working at Hodges Bay. Always friendly professional and acted liked one big team. Well done Hodges Bay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect Pandemic Holiday away from it all

We arrived at resort to be greeted by two of our butlers at reception who took care of our luggage and took us on a tour of the resort with a rum punch at the pool bar while watching the sunset overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Resort had all the protocols in place to be 'covid friendly' and was spotless in cleanliness throughout. we had opted for an Oceanfront suite and was not disappointed, the view was spectacular from our room and balcony, the bed and pillows were super comfortable . We were able to 'whatsapp' the butlers for anything we required but they were on hand throughout the day to sort out our plans for seeing the island and any restaurant bookings, they were amazing and so friendly. The resort had 2 pools, one was right on the oceanfront and was usually an 'adults only' pool which had a swim up pool bar but as the resort was so so quiet, the few children that were there (for some of our time when it was UK half term) used it too but it was not an inconvenience, they were very well behaved and it was nice to be able to 'people watch' a bit as once the families went home we were virtually the only ones left at the resort which in some way is lovely but in another nice to have a few people around to chat to although we did have the fantastic staff. You are limited to one restaurant with one menu for lunch and one for dinner (apart from them bringing you sushi from sushi menu when requested) apart from a Friday and a Saturday when the upstairs fine dining restaurant was open requiring a surcharge of $40 which I didn't feel was worth it as no better than main restaurant and for what we had paid for all-inclusive, I felt this restaurant should have been included in the package. The food overall was extremely good. We went out on 3 evenings on our 11 night stay to other restaurants for a change. I do think the menu should have been changed every 2 to 3 days. Apart from that, we had an wonderful time and really enjoyed our trip over to 'Prickly Pear Island'. Thank you Iroy for taking my husband off snorkelling. In fact thank you to all the wonderful staff for making us feel so welcomed and safe. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
