AN AMAZING STAY AS WELL AS A FANTASTIC STAFF...

I recently stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Birmingham-Homewood and I must say: This was truly an amazing stay.  As I arrived at the property, I immediately noticed the impeccable upkeep of the hotel's exterior.  The grounds were beautifully decorated with greenery.  During my entire stay(on a daily basis)I saw a grounds person cleaning and picking up outside.  As I entered the property, I was greeted by two of the most wonderful ladies, Ms. Diane and Louise.  These two women were a true blessing to me on this stay.  I arrived a little early for check-in and they allowed me to get into my room once it was cleaned. I rented a King bed room, but what I got surpassed my expectations.  The room was big and I mean HUGEEEE.  The room was tastefully decorated, giving a very classic-modern feel.  The room had an updated microwave and mini fridge.  The restroom is a gleaming white with modern fixtures as well.  The bed was super comfortable and the linen smelled fresh(FYI: I've stayed at other top hotel chain properties, and some of the beds have had a stale smell). Overall, the room was a great space whether you were here for work/business purposes or a last minute getaway.    Getting back to the staff:  Everytime that I entered or exited the property, there was some sort of interaction between myself and many of the staff members.  From a simple greeting to an inquiry about a need, the staff here was amazing.  Louise and Ms. Diane seemed to be working all the time(lol), and their presence made my stay even more enjoyable.  From the hotel happy hour event to the random encounters; again THE STAFF WAS AMAZING.  I'm not sure of who from the Sheraton/Marriott family will review this, but I think the staff of this property needs to be acknowledged in some way, form or fashion(ESPECIALLY LOUISE AND MS.DIANE).  I travel very often for work and I stay in many hotels.  This experience has been one of the most pleasant and relaxing times that I've ever had.  Please accept this review as just a small mention to the greatness  in which this hotel is.  I look forward to staying here again(I will actually be back in 2 weeks).  I've seen some of the past reviews and most weren't the best. I can say that my experience has been one to remember. I would recommend this property to friends ,family members and work colleagues. Pest issues

To begin with my 1st visit with this hotel was awesome had no issues at all! The staff is awesome & friendly. The food & drinks were great! In fact this vist was so great my family & I stay five nights! However the following weekend I went back & everything wasn't so great! After being up for 48 hours I just knew this was the best hotel to go to on last minute notice. So I didn't brother to check the beds, etc..1st night there was a bug on my son pillow! The staff was awesome about accommodating my family for the issue & I was moved to another room! The lights was on so I assume someone check the room before sending me in!after we took another shower and was ready to go to bed , there was another bug on my bed& blood at the bottom of the comforter which they took really tight,so it wasn't until I pull all the sheets off that this was seen! No I didn't bother saying anything because I felt they would think I was the issue or trying to get a free night! But after saying 8 nights at this hotel. The pest issues are terrible outside!! Huge caterpillars,right in front of the door& entrance way! Mosquitoes& ants! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

New Marriott / Sheraton Property - OK place (refresh in the making)

So I travel for work frequently, and when on my own, i just want to be comfortable, have good AC, Nice HOT, HIGH water pressure showers, and pleasant spots to sleep and get a little work done before/after meetings.. This place provides ALL of that.. However.. I was there for 1 night, literally 4 days after the Holiday Inn conversion to Marriott (in fact the AMEX transaction still showed Holiday inn 😎 ) They are in the midst of “cleaning” this place up.. The lobby was all really new and with a very nice, new face lift.. But my room, the elevators and hallways.... they are still getting there.. it was definitely dated.. had some new paint here and there, but carpet old, lots of dings on the walls and doors etc.. and the bed was not a typical sheraton bed... but again.. for me.. on my own.. all fine.. I am giving 3 stars.. it really is maybe 3.5ish.. with the service.. A 4 or 5 in my opinion is a fairly new or fresh place with really good beds, new showers, new carpet, etc.. Hope that helps.. So, would I stay here again? probably not until I read some updates on Trip Advisor where the place has been fully refreshed... With that said, from the sounds of it on trip advisor.. I would stay here versus the Courtyard in Hoover.. just as a reference.. I will say, the staff (Bryant in particular) was very nice, and absolutely went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed, was ok with the room and even gave me free breakfast on top of points.. I know my status has a little to do with that (Titanium) but i was just glad he did what he could to make me comfortable and go above and beyond to try and make sure it was a good stay for me.. And it truly was.. just needs a little cleaning up for a Marriott/Sheraton property.. Frankly.. I would up the stars JUST because of the service I got, but frankly, I prefer to rate the rooms/hotel versus the staff.. even though it does make a big difference when the service is bad.. Like I said.. not a BAD place to stay, but more like a Hampton Inn or perhaps a less new Spring Hill Suites.. but has lots of potential once they refresh all of the rooms etc.. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

New Four Points by Sheraton

Mold growing in the bathroom and no one did anything about it. No one would call me back about it. I suffer from severe upper respiratory problems, and that is very unhealthy. I’d have repeatedly tried to speak with a manager and I have yet to be contacted. I traveled on aOctober 19th. The hotel is now called Four Points by Sheraton. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Stay

This hotel was conveniently located to Children's Hospital. Room was spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable.Indoor pool was clean, could be a little bigger and updated a little but grandson was very happy swimming indoors. Staff was very friendly and helpful, extended checkout time for us and it was not even an issue. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
