Dangerous bathrooms and horrible customer service

Checking in, the front desk staff couldn’t find my reservation so rather than spending time to find it, she told me to wait and took the guest behind me and checked him in. Later on that evening, as I was showering, the shower head was unbelievable strong, normally a positive attribute in hotels. However the shower curtain length was much too short for the shower, and the bath mat that I had placed on the floor wasn’t sufficient to keep the water splash contained. I figured I’d reach for a towel from the shower to address the issue, not realising that the rack is farther away than any other hotel I’ve been in, and not knowing there isn’t anti-slip measures installed in the tub. If any management actually reads this review, I have a photo of the tub and the anti-slip portion is completely worn away. Additionally I have many photos and videos detailing the blood and injuries. Next, I knew I was on my face, with blood everywhere, having fallen out of the tub onto the tile floor. When I went downstairs to drive myself to the ER, with a very bloody washcloth to my face, I was ignored by the front desk staff. I know she saw me because we made eye contact. Long story short, after multiple trips to the ER and doctors appointments, still occurring after nine days, so far I have been diagnosed with a concussion, two corneal abrasions, a bruised nose and received stitches on my arm. When I checked out I asked to speak to the manager regarding this dangerous situation. The front desk employee said that “You just missed him, he went upstairs to his office”, and made no attempts to contact him. Oh right, the bedroom was ok, and that’s why I rated this place one star, but ideally I’d rate zero stars if it were an option. Oh and I’m submitting pictures below in case anyone needs proof. Trigger warning for blood. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

It says breakfast included on their website and third party engines but thats not the case. Valet parking instead of self park $22/night. Sheets are like sand paper. They are in the middle of renovations. New bed has wood frame that sticks out on corners. Banged my shins twice! Once got a bleeder. Poor design. Unnecessary. AC malfunction. Ice machine only on top 4th floor. No where else. No trash can or anyway to dispose garbage. In room fridge is not cold so not good if you have left overs or medicine. Would NOT stay here again. My room was very dirty with used sex related items that appeared to have human feces among other gross things left in the cushions of the sofa bed which is the complete opposite of the safe and clean environment they say they provide. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Would've been a perfect room except for….

Would've been a perfect room except for…..the nasty stale smell of old cigarettes that seemed embedded deep into the furniture and carpets!!! I'll start from the beginning. This hotel is in the most random part of Los Angeles. There's not much within walking distance, so for decent food, you'll have to order delivery or drive somewhere. It's newly remodeled and I think used to be another hotel, but even though it's been remodeled for about a year, they still have a vinyl sign stuck to the outside, so if you blink, you may miss the turn into the valet. Parking is valet, which is $2/half hour, or $20 for overnight. The lobby is nothing fancy, just a small counter with many signs to socially distance yourself from other guests. Checking in was easy. Check in is 3pm, but they let me check in fairly early, around 2. Also in the lobby were fixtures where breakfast usually is served, but because of the pandemic, no breakfast. My room was beautiful and HUGE! I booked a loft suite with high ceilings, spiral staircase, and hanging bulb chandelier. So the only problem? The gross cigarette smell. It's kinda disappointing in an age where deep cleaning is essential that this is an issue. By mistake, the manager Mike almost entered my room (even though the Do Not Disturb button was lit). But I thought, while he's here to help me close the window that I opened because I tried to air out the cigarette smell. He was able to help with the window, but when I asked for some air freshener, his response was, , "Uhh….umm..well….I don't know if we have it…..ummmm…" Not very proactive for a manager. He eventually called to say they didn't have any. I guess I'll just have to live with the smell. There were a few drawers, one that seemed to be some kind of fridge. I don't know because it wasn't plugged in nor was there a way to plug it in. But everything else from the living room/ seating area to the cool room design and lighting were GREAT!! The high ceilings gave great acoustics when I felt like bursting out into song. And the many channels fro Direct TV made me feel right at home. There is a tub/shower, a small Keurig machine, a safe, and a microwave. But it was the bougie room design and furnishings that did it for me. You will enjoy staying here. But is you stay in room 406, bring your own Glade plug-ins. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
