Worst customer service I’ve ever had

Jul 30th, 2019

3 days ago I stayed at this hotel. After a 5 hour drive we arrived at 5pm and our room wasn’t ready 2 hours after check in time. I can live with that not a big deal. I was then informed it’s another $20 for parking. Ok not the biggest deal in the world. While I stayed here my car was broken into and property stolen. I have tried time and time again in the last 3 days to get in touch with the manager. I have called 6 times and left 4 messages about a CRIME! No answer no call back nothing. The police can’t do anything until the hotel get back. This is an absolute disgrace! I work in a hotel and if one of our managers did this they would be fired! I will never stay at another hotel with this name! I am a victim of a crime that happened here and I am absolutely disgusted that it isn’t even being acknowledged by the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Stay once again.

Jul 20th, 2019

Room was bright, clean, comfy and cozy. Forgot toothbrush and toothpaste and they were happy to give these items to me complimentary. Location is excellent, I was there for the K-Days parade and Taste of Edmonton. I had great parking during these road closures. Very convenient. Pool and hot tub certainly a plus for me at each stay. Good choice when in downtown Edmonton. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charged for a room Holiday Inn says was not even booked.

Jul 18th, 2019

I had a room booked for July 7th to go to a concert. The concert was cancelled April 10th, 2019. I had called to cancel my hotel room that same day, they said in a recorded call that I didn’t have a room booked for any Holiday Inn in Edmonton at all. You would assume that would have any kind of communication with the hotels they make reservations for but the do not. I neVer received, emails, texts or phone calls at all from Holiday Inn downtown express regarding my booking for July 7th either. So they charged me 222.00 on my credit card anyways. Called the hotel and they said it was for a guaranteed room rate and it’s not refundable. Ok, how come when I talked to Holiday Inn reps they have no evidence of this booking that was not even on their calendar whatsoever. They reassured me several times that there was nothing to cancel because there is no booking to cancel. If you want to get ripped off by Holiday Inn if your trip plans change, book with them, otherwise look for a more honest, transparent company. Never again. Cancelling my IHG membership and recommend others do as well, since it is completely worthless. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Run down rooms

May 28th, 2019

The staff are lovely and helpful. The lobby is modern with new furniture and breakfast hit the spot. However The rooms, hallways and even the elevator was tired, grungy and in need of upgrading. I am a fan and member of Holiday Inns. This was far below expectations. Rooms (even when we asked for something better) were stuffy and stale, bed skirt had cigarette burns and drink stains and were very dreary. Won’t stay again. And, compared to others at this price range - not good value. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Would stay again

Apr 28th, 2019

Check in was quick and efficient, the agent explained everything pertinent including the pool and hot tub (which I hadn’t realized there even was at this hotel). I liked that the room had a balcony with a nice view of downtown. The room was spotless when I checked in, but housekeeping didn’t replenish the amenities (coffee, shampoo, etc.) during my stay. I was only there for two nights so it wasn’t a big deal, but definitely not up to standards. One thing that kind of bugged me was they had one of those cards that invites you to hang your towel and they won’t wash it, but they still took it anyway. Breakfast was ok the first morning, but the second morning the choices were different and not as appealing. Coffee wasn’t hot either on the second morning. Bed was comfortable and the pillows were quite possibly the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a hotel. Location of the hotel is great, very close to Bay station and Jasper Avenue. Would stay again.
